Newly potty trained 3-year-old on a long haul flight

My 3-year-old has just got the hang of using the potty/toilet in the last week. In 3 weeks time we are going to Australia. I don't know what to do about the flights - I don't think I can risk her being in pants as she does have some accidents (and of course you can't always get up to go to the toilet exactly when you want). So I thought I'd put her in nappies. But she isn't keen on nappies anymore - wants to take her night-time nappy off first thing in the morning to do a wee. Are pull-ups the answer? How absorbent are they? also what happens if the child poos in a pull up - can they be removed without getting poo everywhere?

WWYD? Any experiences?

Haven't started potty training yet but do0 use Pull-ups sometimes. Just as absorbent and you rip the sides off (like swim nappies) to get them off so won't get poo everywhere

pull ups are fab. DD is 3 and has been potty trained since she was 2.5 but we always put her in pull ups at nights and also when we fly (which we do regularly) In case of nasty accidents you can rip them down the side to get them off

Thanks all - very useful to know about the mechanics of pull-ups! Think that's the way for us to go - means she can use the toilet if she's willing (though I had forgotten about the scariness of plane toilets!) but we'll have a reliable back-up.
