Ideas for somewhere nice to eat with kids near Bank, London?

I'm meeting a friend for lunch near Bank, and will have a 2 and 4 year old with me. Does anyone have any ideas for somewhere that will be nice, and make everyone welcome? We all eat most things, although really spicy stuff might not work for the littlies...

There is an all bar one near there. also, just 5 mins away is cheapside, lots of chain cafe types (starbucks etc) there.

my DH just said L'coq d'arjent is nice for lunch, no.1 poultry. Also a pub called Green Man, is a wetherspoons pub.

Depends on budget etc.

Take a look on www.danddlondon.com

xx

Thanks sowhatis! Budget - hmmm. I think a little up from sarnies in Starbucks, but not quite Le Coq level...my kids would love it, but not sure the city folk would be best pleased! Have been looking at a site which suggested Smiths of Smithfield- bit further away but the ground floor looks kid-friendly and fun.

There's not masses around Bank itself as it's all offices and Prets, you'd be better heading towards Smithfields or going the other way to Liverpool Street. There's loads at Liverpool St, Canteen, Leon, Giraffe, Patissiere Valerie, loads more too.

There's a Leon on Cannon Street actually, that's by Bank. Meatballs, chicken wraps, fresh juices. The website says they do a kids menu so should be welcoming. www.leonrestaurants.co.uk/

Thanks Muser! I quite fancy Leon; looks like the right blend of kid-friendly and interesting.

So we looked in the window of Leon, and it looked fab - but my friend wanted to try Smiths. Got there before the main lunchtime rush, and really enjoyed it - big leather sofas, a menu which ranged from breakfast to meat pies via sandwiches, and music loud enough to drown out my excited children. It did fill up with city types after 12.30, but it was all very relaxed.
