Keycamp will be there accommodation on somebody else's site, Center Parcs will be their site.

We have been several times to CP in Holland and always had good trips.

I can recommend the Landal Green Parks but not sure how many will be accessible without a car.

*their accommodation - the pedants will be after me

frazzled74 · 11/09/2009 13:52

think centreparks are called Sunparks now in Netherlands...

we went to Duinrell (not a cp site) near Wassenaar/the Hague by public transport last summer. The site is a bit lairy (big, has theme park and fun fair etc) but we got there easily by ferry to Hook of Holland, train to Den Haag and there's a regular coach direct to the site-in season, anyway.

The kids loved the site- we found it a bit wearing!- but it's quite easy to get out to the beach, other cities etc.The town nearby- Wassenaar- is pretty nice too.

Try canvas holidays- they're pretty cheap IMO, and good.

I think Center Parks sold or rebranded some of the sea side ones that they bought in a few years ago but the majority are still called Center Parcs. De Kempervennen is about 20 mins from Eindhoven airport and 15 mins from Eindhoven train station so would be very affordable by taxi from either of those.

ok thanks I will look at Duinrell, sounds a bit big for us but would be a good base for exploring Holland.

It's handy for Delft, Amsterdam, Den Haag, Leiden. And the trains are fantastic (compared with London at any rate)...my son asked me, all puzzled- "why do trains and buses and trams in Holland all turn up when they're supposed to??"

frazzled74 · 12/09/2009 23:27

has anyone been to KIJKDUIN park in de haag?

We tried a Landal - and found it charming albeit quite low key.

Then we went to CentreParcs and it was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E . Felt very 'processed' rather than relaxed and welcomed iyswim. It was all lists, queues and procedures. Lots of teenagers on the site making the pool a bit intimidating for my kids.

We've been to a Landal Greenpark and it was fine, basic but comfortable and excellent value for money. Similiar but less activities than Centreparcs but still plenty to do. When you went you booked through Hoeseasons but now I think you book direct one their own website. Probably generally tricky to get to if you don't have a car though.

had a fab holiday in Duinrell and we don't like the typical Butlinsy Brits abroad thing! Just avoid the on site restauarnat and Irish bar and you don't see the lairyiness!!! Eating out in Wassenaar is fab - kids even (eventually) tried the apple sauce which was served with everything!! There was so much for kids to do they loved it! You also get BBQs with your mobile home.
