Where to go? Thinking of Tywcross Zoo or Flamingo Land maybe???

Trying to decide what to do tomorrow. Just me, Dh and 3yo DD.

So far our thoughts are probably Twycross Zoo.

Or the another alternative is maybe Flamingo Land.

Or somewhere else????

Anyone have any advice/recommendations one way or the other?

TIA!

NO, not staying home. Boring. Done that today!

Too chilly for coast. DD would want to play on beach and have picnic there. But not me thanks!

Like look of Gulliver's but would love to know if there many height restrictions. I know DD will be full price as over 90cm, but does this mean she gets to go on most rides???

May have to start new thread to get people's attention!

What about Alton Towers - they've got the flipping Tweenies or someone there permanently plus there's loads to do other than the horrific rides

katzguk · 29/05/2005 20:01

what about chester zoo?

We are hoping to go in the summer, and its about 1½hrs from Sheffield. Much bigger than Twycross i think and no further away

Hulababy · 29/05/2005 20:02

Looked at Alton Towers - £22 each!!! Gosh, I am getting tight as I get older. LOL!

Decided on Gulliver's Kingdom this tiem round.

katzguk - we always do Chester Zoo. Love it there, but fancied a change.

ahhh - is it good? going to take DD in the summer.

Hulababy · 29/05/2005 20:05

Chester Zoo is fab. Loads there - we never quite manage to see it all in a day. Molie always loves it. First time she was only 7 or 8 months old and was fascinated. Last time we went she had a great time there.

Hula I know the day is past (and I hope you had a nice one) but wd just like to add that imho there is loads to do at Twycross for a full day. We never get round all the animals before we are running out of time and have to dash to the playground which is very good if in need of a lick of paint (kids don?t mind that tho).
Gullivers is great as well, again we always run out of time before we run out of rides.
Hope you did go there and have a good time. DD will have been able to do everything I would have thought as it is aimed at under-10s and once the child is 90cm everything is available to them.
Did you like the killer hill up to the log flume??!!

Hulababy · 31/05/2005 20:18

We did go to Gullivers and had a great time. There was just one roller coaster DD couldn;t go on - the blue one, have to be 110cm. That log flume hill is so steep!!!

im off to gullivers on thursday!! Cant wait!!

bayleaf · 31/05/2005 20:34

not sure where you are but www.twinlakespark.co.uk is great for kids under 12 or so and is cheap - about £7 entry for the day and then all free - it's in north east leicestershire - near Melton

Hulababy · 31/05/2005 20:40

Have a great time Bonkerz. We really enjoyed it.

Hula, glad you had a good time.

Yes, the log flume hill is especially bad if your child demands to go on it again just as you get to the bottom!

They also have a park in Milton Keynes which we often meet my sister at (she's in London) and that one is just as good (and flatter!!!!)

LunarSea · 01/06/2005 09:18

Bayleaf - Twinlakes looks like the sort of place which would appeal to ds. It's about 50 miles from us, but not impossible for a day. You don't fancy a meetup sometime do you?

feelingold · 01/06/2005 10:29

We sometimes go to Twinlakes as it is only 15 miles from us so if you are going to have a meet up there we would be interested as my kids love it there.
Also nearbly is Belton house (national trust property so cos we are members it's free) and they have a great adventure playground there, but I would say it's best for over 4's.
