London for the day

We are going to London for the day in a couple of weeks. I need ideas of how to spend our day. If you had 3 kids (2, 4 & 6) and only 1 day what would you do?

For anyone interested Southwest have a weekend offer through August (off peak). So next weekend is the last chance.

The offer is : Adult £10 return and child £5 return. This can save a huge amount on your travel cost to Waterloo on the Portsmouth line.

We had a great time in London.

Also when you go to a ticket booth with our family & friends rail card it cost: 1 day travel card for my teen child for £1 (underground and buses) and under 11 goes free on the underground. Adult 1 day travel card £5 compared to one adult single ticket on tube which was £4. So the 1 day travel card is worth it.

Hope that is as clear as mud. We wandered shopped did convent garden and then watched a musical. Great for a speedy short visit.

I have ready through this thread with great interest.

DH and I woudld like to take DS 3 years and DD 10 months to London tomorrow or the day.

Can someone please tell me if it's Ok getting round with a buggy? We have a P&T which we could pile them into, but is it goint to be a nightmare getting it on and off tube etc? All tips greatly appreciated.

i think we might head for the Transport museum.

I used to take a buggy (Maclaren mind you) on the tube lots and people do help.

If there's 2 of you, you'll be able to lift the buggy up and down the stairs between you.

Transport Museum is good for the older one if he's into trains, buses etc. Covent Garden also has loads of buskers etc for them to watch.

Or go down to the river and wander.
