Question about flight and what I'm allowed, e.g. liquids etc

Hi,
I may seem really daft as I rarely fly so bit confused with some things. I know that the liquids we bring need to be in a transparent resealable bag and not be over 100ml. But we have sun tan lotion that are 200ml each. If I was to put this in the suitcase that is to be checked in, is that fine? Do all our liquids have to be presented at check in?

Also I read that open razors are not allowed, but disposable ones are. I'm again bit confused by this. Does that mean they have to have the guard bit on, and that's okay, or that I could bring my razor that has the blade in the little packet before it's attached on? And is this also fine in the suitcase?

And last question, what about tweezers? Are they okay?

Thank you. I've been going through Ryanair and Stansted trying to find answers, but thought I'd ask someone who may know more than I certainly do lol.

You can check anything you like into your hold bag - as much liquid as you want, tweezers, razors etc etc

Anything you want in your hand baggage that will be actually with you on the plane is restricted.

Liquids/gels/pastes - you may not have containers that could have more than 100ml in, and the total for each person must not be more than will fit in a clear plastic sandwich bag

No sharp tweezers/scissors/open razors (they mean the cut throat sort)/metal knitting needles etc

Ahh thank you so much!

Bumping this thread - where can I find this information, so that I can print out for my Son - anyone know. I've looked on BAA but couldn't see it on there. I am particularly interested in what you can take in the hold. Oh and anyone know where to buy good quality re-sealable plastic bags ie the ziplock type.

Thanks

chimpsmostwelcome · 05/04/2010 12:55

shameless bump

MatesNeedPals · 05/04/2010 13:07

try this

ErnestTheBavarian · 05/04/2010 13:12

would you like someone to wipe yours/ds bum for you too?? bloody hell just google safety regulations on flights.

Oh, tell you what, I've just done it for you here, blimey, ain't that difficult.

And you can buy zip lock bags in any supermarket and normally pick up a free pushy together one at the airport by security

abitlostandconfused · 05/04/2010 14:26

There is not need to be so narky. The questions may be easy for you and me to answer but if you don't know them and don't know the answer then it can be hard to find the information you need. This is why we have a forum - to ask questions and get help.

Wind your neck in. You woulnd't want a member of your family spoken to like that if they needed help.

Lots of info on the Civil Avitation Authority website.
Ziplock bags from big supermarkets - look in freezer bag section.

Thanks all

Got out of bed the wrong side per chance Ernest?

ffs - not everyone is au fait with google - I did look on the baa website and just wanted something in writing for ds to refer to. I have to say that I feel quite upset by your post.

I am the first to offer help on here, if I can.

ErnestTheBavarian · 06/04/2010 01:39

sorry sorry sorry. yes. well, I would like to have got out of bed the wrong side, but unfortunately, I can never get in it as my dd is currently on sleep strike so I haven't slept in I don't know how long. No need to be that upset though. honestly. I might have been well a bit sarcastic, but I did help didn't I? took the time and trouble to look up your answers, then link them.
