Anyone stayed in a VILLA in Florida.?
We think it may be a better option for the 2 of us and it seems a cheaper option atm (Hotels/flights on package hols are coming out at around £6k..!)

I need Villa suggestions..I know MN had an advert for places to stay that were child friendly but can't find it now...
I would ideally like somewhere nice and modern BUT child friendly (baby gates etc) as I worry about pools etc.

Also is now a good time to go with ds being 2 and dd 4..? Just if we wait till next yr baby 3 may be here or on route iykimw..(which will then put us back another 2 years..)

Also needs to be august as dh's self employed and his contract comes to an end then, also dd is having school taster sessions and there's none in august..

any advice is appreciated.

BTW, its been suggested not to cut back on the flights due to length of fight and space...

bellavita, turn right out of your resort (onto SR 535?) then right on the 192, go past Old Town and then about 1 mile past Celebration there is a turning on the left (SR 545/Old Lake Wilson Road) - between the sizzler and ponderosa and its just down there past Westgate Country club.
When are you next going there? We should do a MN meet up there

mum - yes a meet-up would have been fab, but alas, I think it will be a while before we go back, too many other places to see

Haven't read whole thread but I've just booked a villa in Florida for next Easter (only about 290 days to go )!

We booked the villa through ownersdirect - here We're going with friends and I can't wait!

I went two years ago when DD was 6 and we had an amazing time. We went in August and were remarkably lucky with the weather. It was boiling hot, but hardly any rain at all. My cousin went the following year, got caught in a hurricane and had nothing but rain so you'll certainly take your chances weather-wise!

I wouldn't say that 2 and 4 are too young. Obviously some parks will be more age-appropriate than others (Magic Kingdom far better at that age than somewhere like Universal for example). Nonetheless, if you're happy to have two small children in the heat then go for it!

DD and I went the second half of August and it was great. Most of the US children had gone back to school, the parks were quieter and there really weren't many queues at all. The Magic Kingdom hires out strollers (not sure how much as DD was older and didn't need one, but loads of families had them so I assume they're not too expensive).

This will be our first time in a villa and it's working out to be far cheaper than the hotel option.

I hope you have a magnificent time and your DCs enjoy getting Mickey and Minnie's autograph
