Taking food and medication in hand luggage

Flying with Ryainair and already pretty sure that we are ok to take out own food in our hand luggage, but just wanted to doubly check on here.

Also can my mum take her medication ??

I was thinking yes so long as it is in a properly labelled (ie phramacy label), with her name and stuff on, is that right ??

Any replies and other bits of useful info appreictaed. I may not reply for a while as I am packing in hell.

Food is OK as long as it isn't liquid or paste (so no yogurts or jars of peanut butter).

Medication needs a prescription label if it is a liquid or paste and won't fit in the plastic bag

you can take food and medications as long as they comply with the security restrictions (check the BAA site for details)

Any liquid medications still need to be in containers less than 100ml (I think), but you can take larger containers if needed, as long as you have a medical need and supporting letter (we have done so)

similarly foods are not supposed to be "wet" foods (in sauces etc) as they count as liquuids, but I have takne fish pie and shepherds pie on board in thermsoses before (again, with supporting letter stating why - highly multiple food intolerant children, and dd1 is autistic so needs familiar foods as well)

things like sandwiches/criss/snacks etc all ok, but depending on where you are going may not be allowed in at the otehr end, so you could end up binning anything left over.
