Now almost booked to go to Loire camp for may half term.

From teh website there is scant info about what the mobile home contains so I wonder if it has:

1 Any kitchen equipment ata ll like kettle and toaster as website doesn't say ( I am a complete novice at these things)

2 cleaning equipment like mop and brush and pan

Any ohter basics i should not expect to be provided?

thanks all

Will have a brush and pan, might not have a kettle or toaster, but might have a grill and a def big pan to boil water, they are not so into kettle to make cuppas.

Will have a selection of kitchen equipment, not all have oven depends on country often should say in brochure. You might have to adapt your meals to suit.

Easy to swap morning toast for a chocolate croisant frsh from the on site bakery (if they have one).

We went to Holland recently in the cheapest mobile home. It had a camping kettle and no toaster, you had to use the grill, we needed an oven glove. Don't forget a tea towel and washing up bits.

We took sleeping bags, pillow cases but I forgot the sheets. There was a mop, broom, dustpan and brush for cleaning, the dustpan was really rubbish. I think the more expensive ones have more ie. some have microwaves. Our caravan was a comfort plus.

Some do have ovens, it depends on the country, think italy did, yes I remember doing pizza.

They don't drink tea so they don't always do kettles, water can be boiled in a saucepan.

skramble · 17/05/2009 22:42

We went with Siblu to Spain and they didn't have duvets just blankets, it was april and I was freezing at night.

Portofino · 17/05/2009 22:49

Kettles and toasters probably not. You're more likely to get a coffee maker.

MissisBoot · 17/05/2009 22:49

we went to france and had (from memory)

kettle (boil on the hob - not electric)
oven and gril
you'll have lots of blankets - we took our own duvets as just prefer them - but if we didn't have teh space I would've been happy to have the blankets.
they have pillows (I think)
don't recall a toaster - but ate too many croissants to worry about that!
you'll probably have a gas bbq

I took a crate with the following in to save buying when we got out there:

Washing up liquid, loo roll, tea towel, tea bags, tomato ketchup, emergency baked beans for dd, basic herbs and spices, olive oil and a sharp knife!

ChippyMinton · 17/05/2009 22:51

which company are you going with? UK-owned vans usually have a kettle to put on the gas hob. Never seen a toaster, but there's usually a grill. Pillows and blankets are standard bedding, so you may want to take duvets or sleeping bags.

Take sheets, pillowcases, towels, BATH MAT, washing up liquid & brush, teatowels, foil to line the grill pan, a radio/CD player, SHARP KNIFE, pegs (there's usually an airer), kitchen roll, antibacterial wipes.

retiredgoth2 · 17/05/2009 22:52

....you get loads of blankets.

Nice, tartan ones.

...we nick about four each year. Ahem.

skramble · 17/05/2009 22:54

Ah so you nick them thats why we only had one each and had to pila all the towels on top of the beds to try and keep warm.

We were flying so just got some cheap washing up liquid and soap there and used the laundry service.

policywonk · 17/05/2009 22:55

We did Eurocamp in France a couple of years ago. Everything you mention in your OP was provided - in fact there wasn't anything we needed that wasn't there. (Certainly had oven!)

EarlyAdopter · 17/05/2009 23:01

yes
look at the brochure

policywonk · 17/05/2009 23:03

Re. Chippy's post - didn't need any linen in our Eurocamp van. Washing-up stuff, CD player and tea towels were also provided.

Agree about taking your own knife though. Other people's knives are always irritating IMO.

retiredgoth2 · 17/05/2009 23:08

Eurocamp supply linen.... at a cost.

About £15 per bed I think...

...hence my lack of guilt re blanket theft.

Going again in August. We'll be awash with 'em...
