We are doing a 2 -night stopover in Paris on the way to Austria by train.

Need reasonably priced but bearable family-friendly recommendation please. Dc are 7 and 10. I know it's going to be expensive...

Top tips for what to do would be great too...

Thanks

Hi

We stayed at the Novetel Gare de Lyon last year. Big rooms for Paris, inside swimming pool so something for the girlies to do and work off steam.
Handy for the station and there are a number of little supermarkets on the main road opposite My daughter is 11 she liked Notre Dame free to get in (but no hunchback) little park at the rear to eat a picnic and feed the pigeons etc, plus ice cream from Bertorellis?on Isle de St Louis the best ice cream ever

Hope this helps

We stayed here for DH's 50th Birthday

It wasn;t cheap, but not as expensive as a family room/suite in many of the hotels I looked at. It was lovely. Apartment looked just like it does in the pictures and it is very handy for the Jardins de Luxembourg and the Latin Quarter/Notre Dame. Handy shop across the road too.

no idea where to stay, but a good thing to do is to go on the "bateau bus". (not the "bateau mouches" which are fun but more expensive, basically a cruise boat). The bateau bus is a boat which starts close to the Eiffel tower and stops off at various places up the river and then looping back at Notre Dame cathedral. Its not very far but if you get the right sort of ticket you can hop on and off.

Thanks for the suggestion Portopandemico.

That place looks lovely but it's fully booked for our dates!

I'd go for Citadines apartments (sorry can't do links, but try googling). They are all over Paris - I prefer an apartment to a hotel room with the kids.
