Warming Milk in a hotel room

Hi

My lad is 4 and always starts the day with 2 big cups of warm milk.

We are off to Amsterdam shortly and we are lucky that we have a lovely hotel room with a fridge to keep his milk fresh. However, as he always wants his milk within about 2 minutes of waking up, I don't fancy having to get dressed very quickly and run down to the restaurant to get it warmed up(also don't want to leave him in the room on his own).

I've looked into the idea of getting a baby's bottle warmer (the one's you plug-in) but they don't hold much milk.

Any ideas would be very welcome.

Thanks

i'm thinking along the lines of a pet cow, but i've been on the wine and am not sure i'm being that helpful.

can you not just add a little hot/boiling water to his milk to warm it slightly? If you ask the hotel for a kettle or take a travel on with you it would be easy.

You should have a kettle. Boil the kettle, tip the water into a jug and put the bottle in the water or place the bottle in the kettle. It will get really hot so be careful, keep shaking it to mix the heat around.

i think he's going to have to put up with waiting to be totally honest with you.
even if you had a bottle warmer they take forever to actually warm anything to a reasonable temperature.

just tell him it's a bit different there and you have to get up and dressed and go downstairs for it. he's old enough to deal with that I reckon
hope you have a lovely time

If he's 4 then he should be able to understand that on holiday etc. things are a little different and his milk may take a bit of warming up.

Most hotel rooms have tea and coffee making facilities so you should have a kettle.

He is 4, and should be old enough to understand that things happen differently on holiday. And waiting 10 mins for his milk is not going to stretch him too much is it?

Lucy88 · 01/05/2009 23:01

He will wait, as we've had to do this before when on holiday (but I had a friend who came into our room to keep an eye on him for me), but I suppose I am concerned about leaving him in the room on his own.

Must be tired tonight as I didn't even think about a jug. Def have a kettle in the room, so I'll take a jug with me.

Cheers

don't leave him alone, just take him with you.

it'll be an adventure.

I just put the bottle in the kettle of bolied water. Warms up pretty fast!

mummygirl · 09/05/2009 08:34

how about trying evaporated milk at home see if he likes it -then when you're there you just boil the water and pour it in the milk. I know fresh milk is probably better but I'm sure he'll be fine for a few days.
have a nice trip!

How about trying him with cold milk. I'm mean and never heat my DS's milk. He doesn't seem to care
