Have I read the ryan air baggage rules right?

Trying to decide betwen BA, easyjet or ryan air for a flight home next month

Have I understood the Ryan air baggage rules right.

I can take 3 bags up to 15k, but pay 10euros for the first bag per leg and 20 each for second and third bag per leg.

Baby buggy is free but as DD is still using the carseat bit that is 10 euros each way too.

So the 100 euro flight will actually be 200?

May as well book with BA and get my free sarnie.

if you can avoid it dont fly with ryanair. its not pleasant. they fleece you for anything. i, unfortunately dont learn by my mistakes!

Shitemum · 30/04/2009 16:57

Do they charge you for anything else once you've paid for the ticket and extras you've chosen online?

squeaver · 30/04/2009 16:58

If I had the choice of flying with Ryanair or any other airline, I would go with the other airline.

They do not give a shit. And would charge you to breathe if thy thought they could get away with it.

squeaver · 30/04/2009 16:59

Also both BA and Easyjet will automatically allow you to get on the plane first because you have los. Ryanair will charge you for the privilege.

Steaknife · 30/04/2009 17:08

Thanks for the feedback, I've never flown with Ryan Air so did wonder what they were like.

Easy Jet are okay, but their bagage allowance is a bit pricey so I think I'm going to plump for BA, they have the best baggage policy.

You get a 1 bag, 20kg bagage allowance and the LO gets a 1 bag of 5kg baggage allowance.
And they take buggy and associated bumpf for free.

Right just got to hope there are still some cheap seats.

i think they also charge about 13.00 to actually pay!

MadameCastafiore · 30/04/2009 17:53

Our flights to Bologna cost about £20 for the 4 of us - that is for a return - once we fugure in the cost of taxes and baggage it is about £300!

Still cheaper than BA though!

Ivykaty44 · 30/04/2009 17:58

BMi charged me £10 to pay for a return flight to Barcelona, they also charge you to check in at the airport... They charge for bags in the hold and drinks and snacks are expenisve on the flight.

Steaknife · 30/04/2009 21:55

This is what really bugs me, you can never just compare like for like and the price that is quoted is never the price you actually pay.

Bah.

Easyjet don't charge you for buggy or carseat.

Don't know what other airlines charge, but Ryanair charges £15 for every kilo over your 15kilo allowance, so we just all take on the max in hand luggage of 10 kilos in a wheel on case. When DH, 2DDs and I travel we only check in 2 suitcases and take on 4 wheeled small suitcases, of which 2 of them are Trunkis so kids are quite happy to ride 10 kilos of my shoes to the gate
We also make sure either DH or I are online check-in, saving more money. For some reason kids aren't allowed to check in on-line so have to pay for airport check-in

eltham · 21/05/2009 08:51

my kids checked in online..or rather i did it for them..they're 4 and 8..so no charge
