Hello
Can anyone recommend a good travel highchair? Ideally it could fit in a suitcase! We have a 7 month old boy who is a real wriggler!! Thanks

With us it wasn't how high his knees went or that the strap didn't fit anymore but that it was too small to allow a good sitting posture. For that the chair should be deep enough to support their whole thigh and finish just behind their knees iyswim. DS is only 25th centile for height so not a tall boy and by about 2 years the edge of the seat ended about halfway down his thigh.

I see what you mean NA and I think Dd is the same, but it's only for occasional meal times for her, so I'm not too worried, although she'll be out of her high chair soon, so I may be using it for all meal times soon enough.

Never even thought about that - he didn't seem uncomfortable. Is the supporting to the knee thing because they've got nothing to put their feet on? I think he did develop a tendency to tuck his feet into a kind of kneeling position on the main chair, so that might be why. (Just thinking that the office chair I'm sitting on only supports half my thigh, and trying to imagine my dining chairs...)

I think it is to do with that cos I know for the best sitting posture the feet should be flat on the floor. DS' phsyio told me off for letting him kneel up at the table because it's really bad for their backs and their posture apparently. When I showed her the handysitt she said it wasn't ideal because all the weight would be at the part of his thigh that wasn't supported and that's not good - i think you want it to be the calf that's carrying the weight.

That's why I've got a massive leather office chair. It's really deep and supportive and I don't get a bad back like I used to with the old one.

Can't think where Dd puts her feet, but I know they aren't hanging over the edge. Will have to look next time I use it.

I popped into that shop I mentioned yesterday today and they didn't have any of them so I asked. Apparently, the design has been revamped and that's why it has increased in price by 50%. I'm not really convinced tbh. I can't think what improvements they could've made that would warrant that much of a price hike.

this polar gear one is a bit like the one Tommy linked to. We got loads of use from ours, 7mo is a perfect age (can sit up but not big/heavy enought to bust out of straps/tip chair over). Used it in restaurants, trains, theatre seats, everything. The DS's frequently needed restraining, basically.

Solo - from the look of it they've changed the back so that it comes a bit higher and includes a handle. And they've also put a (removable, I think) solid bar thing on, as well as the straps. Both of which look like improvements, but I wouldn't pay that much extra for them. Especially now the plastic copies are available!
