Hi our daughter is just over 4 and we've always dreamed of taking her to Florida.
I don't know weather she's too young to really enjoy and remember it at the moment though.
We'll also need to save up first.
I did want to do it before she started school, as it's more expencive in the holidays.
What do you think ?

Honestly I wouldn't take a four year old unless I had to. Any time between 8 and 12 is good - they can go on more rides and they will remember it. A four year old will have forgotten it by the time they are eight.

I think a 4 year old really believes it all. We've been to Eurodisney and even our 18mth old loved it. We are going to Florida (ages 2 and 4) at the start of the summer, as like the OP it is our last chance outside of school hols.

Disney Land = California
Disney World = Florida

That's not a dig at you. Frankly who cares?

Well, people from Florida can get a bit touchy about it actually. Apparently the Florida one is a lot bigger than the original California one, and therefore, better. . .

Who knew?

She will struggle to remember at four although that won't affect her enjoyment at the time.
We have just come back. I think DD (aged 6)enjoyed it as children are meant to IYSWIM - as in she totally believed everything she saw and it still seemed magical. When we took DS1 he was 10 and that was fun but he wanted to go on bigger rides and it was more about that.
I would say 5 or 6 - 8 is ideal .

But if she goes at 4 she will love it and it will be easier for you as many rides etc will not be suitable so you won;t have to do everything. At six DD met most of the younger height restrictions.

( we took DS1 ( 15) and he had a fab time and DS2 is 12 but has SN so loved absoloutely every single thing from big scary rides right through to the Playhouse disney show . DS2 really gets his entry value

I wouldn't do Florida until they were older - particularly if it was intended as a once in a lifetime event.

Eurodisney really is perfectly big enough to entertain a 4yo.

We plan to go to Florida - but would rather they are a little older so that they can appreciate the other things in the area like MGM studios/epcot/Busch Gardens/Florida Keys and make a really holiday of it.

I quite fancy doing teh Disney Carribean cruise too..

The holiday issue is important though as the parks get PACKED during major hoildays. We crossed with the full Easter break for just one day and it was hellish. Avoid christmas and Easter which are the two busiest times there - so busy that sometimes they stop letting new people in by lunchtimes apparently [shock. No fun when it is like that.

Thanks everyone. She is very tall for her age, so should meet the height restrictions at about 5.
I think 6 would be great but there's then the school holidays to concider.

We are also trying for another baby, so we might end up going in 5-6 years time.

DS2 as 3.5 when we went and he was far too young IMO.

We plan to go back next august, he will be 7 then.

Ds1 was 6 -perfect age.
