sorry just seeing mum and dad off to the B&B they are staying in, best all round really

Umm, wel it cost over 5 dollars which is about 2 quid, and they do do an English Recipe Heinz Beans but quite frankly the beans are too mush and don't tast good cold, which is as far as I'm concerned the acid test

Mum and Dad have been here for nearly three weeks and go home on Sunday

Since you ask

almostanangel · 21/04/2005 15:28

I am very old you see

eidsvold · 21/04/2005 23:29

glad you found the pickles - know how much it meant to me when we were in the UK to get food from the aussie shop... a little taste of home.

if you can get to Cairns - do the train to Kuranda and the skyrail back - amazing to go over the mountain range and down into cairns by cable car - amazing view just as you come over the lip of the mountains and begin your descent.

A day trip to Green Island.

A long haul flight for your first - very brave. WHo are you flying with? We usually fly SIngapore - brilliant. Have flown others but after flying SIngapore - decided they were the best and would never fly long haul UK - Aus with anyone else.

almostanangel · 22/04/2005 07:36

eidsvold hi thank you quantas...and thank you for your "what to do" that sounds great have seen the cable car thing in a book ...not sure weather iam exited or damn scared lol

I am terrified of heights but friend said I had to do it. Had done the train years before so we drove up and she put me on the cable car to come back down. You cna also get off and go for a stroll through the rainforest at two points (?) if I remember correctly.

tjupakai (SP?) dreamtime/aboriginal centre... brilliant also.

LadyPenelope · 22/04/2005 14:40

Sorry it's taken me a day to respond.
We stayed at appartments called Villa San Michelle. Right on main street ... it was great. I looked up the name of that restaurant on web ... its called " On the Inlet" - really child friendly too. The park by the marina is lovely. I have gorgeous piccies of my dd there running around in the sunshine.
I want to go back...

almostanangel · 22/04/2005 22:19

thanks all read the inlet details to dh we now both dreaming of sitting in the sunset...hope you all be round after the weekend i will grill you for more details have a nice weekend.

Suzy I have just bought Dirt Music after your recomendation here.
AAA, have a wonderful time in Port Douglas. I drove from Cairns to PD - was there in 1993.
Say hello to Yorkeys Nob (schoolboy guffaws all round) Can recommend Kurunda - a bit touristy, but v beautiful.
Stayed at Kewarra beach, lovely. Many beautiful places along the coast. Sigh, will have to go back one day.
Are you taking the kids?
