How easy is it to get around London with a buggy - arriving at Paddington?

We're hoping to stay west of London over Easter for a few days with dh, and 3 dcs (5.11, 3.7 and 23mths) - the local train goes to Paddington. I gather from previous threads that the tube isn't particularly easy to navigate with a buggy!

How easy would it be to get around? We will probably only spend 1 day in London - where is best to go? Reading other posts, is the Eye and southbank area good for children? Or anywhere else?

True Northener/Midlander that I am, it will be my first visit to London since my dizzy student days when obviously my priorities were rather different

could you borrow an ergo? much easier for getting about .

I don't think you'll have too much trouble with a buggy if there are two of you to lift it up stairs etc. Southbank area excellent for children, and easy to get to from Paddington on the Circle Line. Or how about getting tickets on the sightseeing bus? The problem with the tube is that you don't get to see anything!

Have googled ergo - looks fab! DS is quite tiny (22lbs at nearly 2!) so he'd be pretty easy to cart about - will have to investigate!

thing about ergo is leaves you with 2 spare hands for other kids - i hate dealing with older ones and a pushchair, let alone on public transport.
