Can I book train tickets more than 3 months in advance?

I've checked thetrainline and another site (forgotten the name) but neither allowed me to look at trains more than 3 months ahead. Is this just a general thing that I have to put up with or is there some way of doing it? I just want to have our summer hol all organised and ready!

Yes but you will pay top whack. I know it is tempting but this is the reason that trainline don't let you do it. But you can buy in advance at a train station - be prepared to wince at the cost though!

Really? I thought it would be nice and cheap doing it so far ahead!
I might hold fire then. Thanks!

I think you can book them max 3 months in advance 9not sure if it's 3 months or 90 days) - if you do it exactly 3 months (or 90 days!)in advance you should be able to get the good deals.
Good luck!

I thought three months was the max as the timetable does not extend beyond that.

i used to pre book for the cheap tickets but can only be given set times and have to stick to them but this was always best done 3 mths before as they all went other wise

may not be the rail service you use but same applies on others normally 12 weeks before, they can be booked

boogeek · 20/03/2009 14:12

OK thanks every body - have marked my calendar to do it 3 months ahead!
