Richmond Park - Driving through

I took my family to Richmond Park to see the deer yesterday. Unfortunately we struggled to find it and got there late and it was a bit of a wash out of a day. Never mind.

I was sure that you could drive through the park and hopefully spot the deer from the comfort of the car which would have suited us for various reasons yesterday. Does anyone know anything about this and which entrance you approach the park through to do so?

the Deer just roam around.

I went to Knigston Uni and would often sit in the park for Lunch. the deer were all over the place.

you should be able to see them from any entrance really

Any entrance would have done--they roam around. I used to see a lot near Ham and Kingston Gates.

You can still drive through, there is a map here.

You can park in any of the carparks and walk around too - I remember seeing them when walking round by the ponds.

If you look at the map you can park at Pembroke Lodge and have tea & cakes at the National Trust restaurant (pricey but hey day off etc..) Don't try and park there on a Sunny Bank Holiday you'll be lucky to find a space. OR try the Lawn plantation car park and walk past the ponds to Pembroke Lodge. It takes about 20 mins more with little ones. You can get lots so keep asking people are very very nice.
