La Manga

We're going to La Manga in two weeks (12th March) with some friends.

We're staying in a friend's villa but it isn't the kind of place I'm used to going & have no idea what to take.

I looked on the web & see it should be about 60 degrees but am struggling to think what that means clothes wise for myself & dd who is 9 months.

Any suggestions appreciated.

We have an apartment in La Manga (at the end of the strip, not at the La Manga golf/club resort) and we just got back from there last week.

I found it was lovely and warm in the sunshine but a bit nippy in the shade and at night. I took a pair of jeans and a pair of lighter trousers, one jumper, a couple of jumper dresses and some lighter tops that I could layer and a jacket and I was fine.

Where abouts in La Manga is the villa?

Thanks bluebump - not quite sure where we're going but it is supposed to be very nice & the friend the villa belongs to has a very nice mansion here!

When you say it was warm in the sunshine - did you wear jeans in the day or is it more linen trousers and long sleeve top weather? And for dd - should I be thinking vests and long sleeves tshirts or summery dresses? Thanks very much!

I am online again so I can answer you already!...

Sounds like you'll be going somewhere nice! La Manga has some expensive parts to it, we really like it down our end. Down at the marina it's usually posh car paradise!

I wore jeans in the daytime, my other trousers were heavier than linen but they were fine too, I sometimes felt too hot in the sun but fine when it was chilly! Actually I mainly wore my ugg type boots too which is why I felt warm probably. My DS is 6 months and we just had him in his usual clothes and then a jumper/fleece rather than a coat when we went out.

It is very sporty so the tracksuit bottoms and a tee-shirt " I am thinking about going for a run" look covers a multitude

This time of year dress for spring - just have jumpers/jackets for colder days and evenings. We have got tanned and been able to swim in the sea in Nov and Feb so take a bikini just in case you get lucky

Thanks for all the posts. I've packed lots of long sleeve tshirts, dresses & light trousers for dd. The forecasts have said it is about 20 at the moment so that's still jeans & a t shirt weather right? Am a bit crap trying to think about how warm it will be

I was there last week and it was very nice in the sun put quite cool in the shade (jumper needed). I had my DD (17 months) in cotton trousers or cropped jeans and long sleeve t shirts with a fleece or a nice wooly cardigan if it was chilly.

Thanks Hersetta - had a look at the weather today & looks sunny until Sunday then a bit rainy on Monday. Still, it is a HOLIDAY
