Where is Disneyland Paris?

As in, once you get to, say, the middle of Paris, is it easy to get to? Can you get a train?

Or is it actually miles and miles away from Paris and only accessible by car?

its not in the centre of paris but you can get a train

duckyfuzz · 27/02/2009 21:23

how to get there

SlightlyMadScotland · 27/02/2009 21:23

It is on the East side of Paris; outside the M25 equivalent though. It has it's own train station I think so I am sure you could get from the centre of paris easily.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 27/02/2009 21:24

How long does the train take? Half an hour or so?

OP posts:
uptomyeyes · 27/02/2009 21:26

Marnee La vallee from memory. Shouldn't think it would take more than 20 minutes.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 27/02/2009 21:26

My goodness ducky, that link seems to sugggest you could do a day trip from London Now, that's a day trip and a half.

I think you could easily do a day trip from London, the time difference is on your favour and the train journey is fairly short. I've a work colleague who commute in from Paris to London, not daily, but fairly frequently.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 27/02/2009 21:30

And there was me wondering if it was too much from the Loire.

We're aiming for May half term.

Do you think it will be nightmare busy?

OP posts:
sundew · 27/02/2009 22:09

I hope it won't be really busy as we are going to the Loire for 5 days then to Disney for 2 days (fingers crossed everyone else thinks it will be too busy and stays away ). We are doing one of the Keycamp style holidays - the dds are really excited already!

skramble · 28/02/2009 00:18

over the hills and far away or here RER train

skramble · 28/02/2009 00:20

Idiots guide

You can also buy a combined train ticket and disney one day pass at the train station.

LIZS · 28/02/2009 16:56

If May half term coincides with either Ascension Day or Whit weekend, both bank holidays in Europe, it will be busy. It is about 45 minutes by train from central Paris.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 28/02/2009 21:50

Fair point, thanks Lizs.

turns out Ascension day is Sunday 21st May

Whitsun is Sunday 31st.

So best avoid Monday 22nd May and Monday 1st June ?

We went May half term last year and it wasn't over busy as long as you made good use of the fast passes. The rides in the little kids bits were the busyiest (flying elephants etc..). Had a fantastic time though, and we travelled by train from centre of Paris. Was really easy.

Leslaki · 28/02/2009 22:33

We're going 24 - 28th May so let's hope europe is at work and leaving the parks alone!!

LIZS · 01/03/2009 10:49

Ascension day Bank holiday is on 21st May which is a Thursday so you can expect the parks to be more busy from then until Sunday. We went over that weekend a few years back and it was very hard to find somewhere to eat on the Friday night in particular, so do book. Hotel New York put on a special buffet to cater for the overflow. We went to Buffalo Bill's show on the Saturday, booked in advance.

NEXT Question: Sorry.

If I'm trying to find a cheap chain hotel near DLP (but not actually one of the resort hotels - My GOD they're expensive!) which areas of Paris am i looking at? ie, if I look at a list of Paris suburbs?

None of the maps seems to match up and I'm getting confused. And the Ibis "show on a map" thing isn't working...

OP posts:
Mercedes · 10/03/2009 10:09

Sorry to but in but does anyone know how late the trains to Paris run?

LIZS · 12/03/2009 16:45

We stayed in Bussy St Georges which is just along from Marne La Vallee. We stayed in a Best Western but there was also an Ibis and a cheaper chain (can't recall which) very close by off the same motorway exit/near the station. iirc the trains ran well into the night. We chose to drive back from DLP after kate fireworks (11.30 ish ) but think the trains and busses were still going.

If you go on Expedia and select hotel only, then type in Disneyland Paris, hotels that are near it will come up as well as the on site ones.

Chrysanthamum · 12/03/2009 23:13

How much does a day in DLP cost for 2 adults a 6yr old and a toddler?

LIZS · 13/03/2009 08:41

last summer we prebooked passes online - access to both parks for one day - £35 per adult and £31 per child. Under 3's are free iirc
