I'm going to US next week (atlanta) with my mum and my DD who will be 23/24 weeks. Haven't weaned her yet so she's on boob and 2 bottles at night.

Do I bring aptamil in cartons? confusing as I read on other thread that you bring bring ready made. or shall I not bother with bottles at all and just boob all the way (wd rather not but not sure re: hassle of making up, and have never used powder before)

If I use sling shall I just use my close baby carrier or will baby bjorn provide more support? I can borrow bjorn. Never used before tho.

any tips would be great. realised I'm completely unprepared.

Also do you advise bringing medised in case she doesn't sleep?

What to take in case she's teethign? generally v dribbly and think they're on the way but no idea when coming. I have teetha powders, calgel, calpol

best nappies for explosive poos - think they'll be worse than usual from what I've read, and they're pretty powerful anyway ? I'm using pampers and boots stay dry at night.

ok will wait to hear sorry for long msg.

I don't think you can give Medised to under 2s now (lots of threads on this). My dd gets knocked out by Calpol, if that's any use.

I'd take some Aptamil cartons (but they have to be less than 100ml remember).

Also you're going to the US not Outer Mongolia, they do have chemists there you know

Can't help much more as my dd is now 4, but she was doing long haul from 12 months and ime it takes 3 nights to settle into the new time zone so don't stress. They're so much more adaptable than you think.

yopu could always get a couple of cartons from boots after going through security. I'd jsut pack some empty bottles and then buy it.

use the carrier you are used to.

I don't think you really need to be worrying about medised or anything to help her sleep, she will soon adjust.

calgel will be fine for teething.

Don't worry too much, you can get anything you forget there, and babies are surprisingly adaptable and poratble!

If aptamil comes in tins I would pack those in your suitcase. These are okay to bring into the US. US milk formulas are somewhat different from those on this side of the Atlantic.

Where are you flying from?. If you phone the branch of Boots airside in advance they will tell you what formulas are stocked.

Have you got a bulkhead seat for your DD?.

I take it as read your DD haas her own passport. Have you also completed the ESTA for all travellers (if you're British or EU citizens this needs to be completed online as the visa waiver forms are no longer used).

Medised is not adviseable for use in under 2s.

When we flew to Florida last year, I was not allowed to take cartons of milk through security. I was only allowed to take boiled water in his bottle with powder to add to it. I had checked with the airline before going to airport and they assured me cartons of milk were fine but this wasn't the case. Coming out of America was even worse, I wasn't allowed to take his jars of food without tasting them in front of security.
