Quick q: domestic flights in late pregnancy..same as flying internationally?

Have googled but can't find specifics. I know you're not really allowed to fly after 28 weeks: does this rule count for domestic as well as international flights?

Cousin is getting married in St Andrews when I will be nearly 8 months pg and we live in London: train looks a hell of a long journey for a heavily pg woman and a squirmy toddler, even with dh to help. Hire a car?...could be more stressful.

Have to get there and back in a weekend; can't ask dh to take more than the Friday off work - he has taken a lot of odd days off for childcare and family stuff this year already.

To be honest, I would give the whole thing a miss, but cousin has asked dd to be a flower girl and bought her a dress: seems ungracious to say no.

So, not really a quick question at all! Any bright ideas?

the rules are fairly similar.....think 32 weeks is limit. look on the airlines website, they will tell you the limit. i know when i was about 8 months pre i had to get train from scotland to derby instead of flying like normal. really enjoyed it actually, nice scenery and lots of books read! or you could get a sleeper train?

I'd send DH and DD on their own. I flew at 32 weeks, and it was pretty awful in terms of hoiking myself round the airport and getting in seat etc.

I did a lot of travelling when pg, right up till DS arrived at 35 weeks, and looking back, wished I hadn't left it so late

check with the airline. I know the limit is 32 weeks, 28 weeks for some.

Im not sure why, Im sure for an internal flight if you did go into labour which is unlikely they would be able to land within about 15 minutes, or even get you to your destination. It does seem a bit silly but I guess they have to cover themselves

Thanks for these replies: gemmummy, I'm sure it would be a relaxing trip with books to read if we weren't going with dd!!

What a huge favour to ask dh: hey sweetie, give up your weekend and take dd on an impossibly long train journey on your own to go to my obsure cousin who you hardly know's wedding....I couldn't do it.
