please I really need help with an itinerary....neither of us have been to SA before!

We'd like some pool/beach fun, some winery stuff and even a bit of safari (is that possible with a little one?)?

We have 2 weeks there....15 nights.

any help gratefully appreciated.

must go to

boulders beach and see the penguins (they swim in the sea and will waddle around while you walk on the beach!)...that's round the Simonstown side

the acquarium at the waterfront (v v good)

in SA, we don't normally take little ones on safari and cape town not the place for it but I'll have a think

will come back with my favourite wine farms....my tip would be to do the farms by area, so one day in Stellenbosch, one day in Paarl...that way you can plan which ones you go to (also you must eat at the farms, they have some amazing food)

Go up Table Mountain

Have sundowners on Signal Hill (you can drive to the top and sea the ocean all around you, just amazing)

Go to Cape Point and see where the 2 oceans meet - it's a bit of a tourist trap but it's fascinating.

will think and post some more later!

see not sea the ocean all around you (poor spelling!)

and things ds will love

go to Hout Bay and get a boat to seal island to see the seals

go to Fairview Wine Farm to see the goats in their tower!

the aquarium and the penguins mentioned below

take him to Fishoek beach because the water is on the warm side and there's a lovely cafe on the beach that sells great seafood and a little playground

(on way back, visit a pub called the Brass Bell...just a few miles back towards cape town on the sea side from fishhoek... whose back terrace sits right in the sea. When it's stormy, the sea comes over the wall!)

thinking about it, franschoek one of my fave places for wine....bellingham and boschendal worth visiting and if you like posh food, Le Quartier Francais is brilliant (has won many top awards). Franschoek stunning too though I imagine ds may get bored if you do too many wine farms!

What's your budget for the hotel? You must hire a car too. Can't do without one.
