Help quick - EasyJet Speedy Booking: worth it?

Anyone paid for and used this? Is it worth the extra cost? Travelling with two small-ish kids so don't want to be separated from them on the plane.

Sorry, BOARDING - Speedy BOARDING.

bump
I can't remember if we've ever got it... and it was some time ago, when we travelled out of the UK quite regularly.

nancy75 · 30/01/2009 19:55

if you are travelling with small children they let you on after the speedy boarding people but before everyone else, i think this is only until the youngest child is about 4.

ThingOne · 30/01/2009 19:56

If your children are under five you get priority boarding anyway. But at some airports you are put on a bus so lose your priority place as everyone crowds onto the bus after you and gets off first ....

Ask someone who has flown from the same airport.

Ah thanks all (and big kiss to Franca for bumping)

I decided to get it just in case

Spoil yourself PW . Where are you going? [nosy]

policywonk · 30/01/2009 20:56

Ile de Re. I think it's compulsory once you've been on MN for two or so years...

in my experience it was worth it but I wasnt with kids, was with aged father who doesnt like queueing!! he paid, said it was the best money he had ever spent as we walked to the front of a very long queue in liverpool airport

francagoestohollywood · 30/01/2009 20:59

. It must be beautiful though...

Dropdeadfred · 30/01/2009 21:01

what happens if everyone on the flight has paid for speedy boarding though?

Lemontart · 30/01/2009 21:02

Yes - the max age for automatic free speedy boarding is 4. However, this is only after the people who have paid for it are allowed on. We didn?t buy it last time as we have a 4 yr old and was stunned to see about half of the plane had been boarded first anyway as preferential speedy boarders. There were also a lot of families with little babies and we were a fair way down the queue of people to board second with kids under 4. Result was that we were very lucky to sit together 2 and 2 behind as were rows of 3 seats not 4.
In future definitely paying for it as no way going to risk separation.

Dropdeadfred · 30/01/2009 21:12

ooooh I'm worried now..i am flying with them in August in a party of 9...my dd will be 4.

policywonk · 30/01/2009 21:15

I did wonder about what happened if everyone pays, DDF - presumably EasyJet can't sell this to everyone on the flight (... can they??)

You might be able to add it to your booking now if you think it's worth it?

Oh, and thank you to lemontart and rolereversal for the retrospective justification of my extravagance!

DropDeadFred - 4 is ok, it stops being a freebie when they hit their 5th birthday.

Hersetta · 04/02/2009 12:33

priority boarding (or Speedy Boarding) is limited to 40%or 50% of the plane capacity After which time it is not offered so not everyone can buy it.

Claire2301 · 04/02/2009 12:39

Ile de Re is gorgeous, as is the island below it Ile d'oleron (been on holiday there with family every year for the past 22 years!)
If you get any rainy days there is a great Aquarium at La Rochelle which is worth a visit.
Have a great time.
