seems to be lots of travelling to and from the place, its a popular trip but surely too much travel, worth it for just one day in resort?

for a 4 year old and 5 year old who are desperate to go there and for whom this is easiest option for adult who doesn't fancy going any other way

Bumping for you.

Hi - I don't think you really want to do this trip and would like us to agree its not a great idea.

So - its not a great idea!

The coach journeys would be quite tiring and boring with little 'uns (esp. if you are on your own), 'continental breakfast' means a roll and a plastic pot of jam. Disneyland is fab - real fun, but its also very, very tiring, walking about the Park itself, queuing for the rides can be tedious and not all attractions will be suitable for your children.

I honestly would wait until they are older and, in the meantime do Legoland etc.

There are some pretty good deals on at disney land at the moment, have a look at their website - something like kids go free plus 20% off

I am hoping to take DS soon he's three but v travel sick and we live in scotland so would need to be a fairly long train based trip!

Hther · 28/01/2009 20:07

actually was hoping people would say it's ok, its a cheap option also doesn't mean going on own, as its organised trip, and no taking tube to st pancras etc, but wondering if its worth a full days travel there, and same back for one day at park

sorry, I don't want to p**s on your (Disney) parade, but I really am not sure its worth it when your DCs are quite young. I really would wait until they are a couple of years older.

But, as I said, Disney is fab fun!

ilovetochat · 28/01/2009 20:16

i went on coach trip to disney when i was 12, we had 2 days in the park and it was worth it. its a long way for 1 day.

My friend took her ds to SisneyParis on the coach from Northampton with leger Holidays. She loved it and they booked 3 days in the park. TBH it would be along journey on your own with 2 dc!! I'm taking my 5 and 6 yo (sorry, they'll be 7 and 6 by then) in may on my own. We're staying outside Disney in a campsite (le Touquin - park is les etangs fleuris) which is about 15 miles away. I paid for it with tesco vouchers and am buying the dcs Disney park tickets for their birthdays. Couldn't afford it any other way!! we've been twice before and they loved it so I know it will go down well! I'm driving but am happy to drive in France. If you don't fancy the trip across London for Eurostar you could drive to Ashford in kent and get Eurostar from there. Alternatively fly or get the coach to paris then out to Disney.

Leslaki · 29/01/2009 14:56

here is the Leger site
I booked with canvas to use Tesco vouchers. my friend ahs booked direct and it was cheaper (obv mine was free for me but actual orice was cheaper!)

Hther · 29/01/2009 14:59

thanks dont drive scared of flying!

You do know don't you that almost all 4 and 5 year olds are desperate to go there, and that most probably won't ever actually go - it's not compulsory!

I mean that in a nice way - some of your posts come across as "I know I have to go for the kids, and this is the least painful way", but you really don't have to you know!

Hther · 31/01/2009 18:05

sorry didn't make clear its not for me but someone else who's saying want to go, don't want to fly, don't want to go on my own but as part of organised trip, etc, thanks for replies anyway

I think the journey over would be so horrendous (long, boring, bored kids etc) that the adult would spend the day in the park just dreading the journey home.

Having looked at the details it doesn't actually say how far the hotel is from the hotel so you could only get 7 hours there which may sound a lot but isn't.

IME don't do long journeys until your children are quite happy to spend hours on a DS with headphones on and only bother you when they need another biscuit

buktus · 02/02/2009 20:08

i go in 6 weeks today and they say the golden age for disney paris is between 3 and 7, mine are 3, 6 and 7, but when we first went my ds's were 2 and 3
