Brining car seats for toddler & infant on short-haul trips?

We are planning a short trip to Paris on the Eurostar but will need to take cabs to and from the train station in both cities. What should I do about car seats? Or do most people just hold onto their kids while in city cabs for short trips? I feel like its a bit risky but am not sure its possible to bring suitcases, a double stroller & two car seats on the Eurostar.
Wondering what other parents do when they travel? Thanks.

We hire a car and hire car seats. We once had a nightmare where we flew the day we were due to be paid and our salary hadn't cleared so our debit card would not authorise the car hire so we did get a cab without car seats and I nearly had a panic attack (the cab driver was tailgating at high speed on the motorway). Never again.

I totally agree on motorways but what if its just a 10 minute drive within the city (london & paris). I know people take strollers in london cabs all the time...

Even my dh (known in our circles as HealthAndSafetyMan) allowed dd to travel on my lap in London and Paris taxis. You cannot take on the train huge bag, baby bag, food bag, push chair and car seat. And toddler. If you were really worried you could take tge rube and the metro.

Or even the tube

for infant we used our front carrier and had ds strapped to one of us in that in taxi. for toddler I guess you could just use the seat belt. It would be better than nothing at all??
