We went to France last year on a ferry (with our car) and stayed in a villa. It was quite a cheap holiday really seeing as we got gorgeous weather and our own heated pool! The most expensive thing was eating out so we tended to eat our main meal at the villa, and eat out for lunch. We went in May when the villa fees were slightly less. I took my DC's out of school for a week. Bad Mummy.

I would be willing to take the children out of school/nursery if it meant warmth! We have had british holidays for the last few years and are fed up with the weather. Last year was Swannage where the best weather was sunny but with a strong breeze. That was for one day the rest were damp, wet or soaking. Do you think/know if it would be possible without a car?

We have our place in France available if you'd like to give them a go.

The official website for the one in the south is:
here

we charge £350 per week. Ours sleeps 8.

Our northern property is:
here

we charge approx £200 per week for this.

Obviously you have ferry or flight on top.

We are selling because we have bought the new house in south of france - Nimes Languedoc. British page for info on new house is:

oldwomanwholivedinashoe · 26/01/2009 19:46

and no pushcahir - niether are suitable for use without car although, from what I know of France, not many places are.
You would have to be very near the coast - Dinard is lovely.
