Bumping for you.

When are you flying to the US; its just that after January 12th the ESTA system for travellers commences. This is basically the new US permissioning system for entering their country (it replaces the visa waiver scheme).

I'd stick with all his favourite sorts of foodstuffs like you've mentioned; take plenty of it for him (along with some food for you). Do not rely on them fully to provide!. Yogurt is more tricky as they may not also be able to store it for you (although you may get lucky). The other potential problem is taking it through security if they regard it as a liquid. I'd buy some if you can in the departure lounge after going through security.

Leave behind any uneaten fruit on the plane; you will not be able to bring it into the US.

Thankyou AttilaTheMeerkat, we have completed our ESTA with no problems.

Hi, we're going to Aust at the end of the month with our two DS's (2 & 1 yr). I was thinking of also doing the organix packs and also fruit. Re yoghurt, you could try one of those jarred ones by Hipp etc though would test them out on the child beforehand to check that they like them. Though also security might make you open them which would be a waste of time huh! I also plan to buy some food once we've gone through security, should at least be able to get some fruit from Pret or someone like that. Also believe that the Boots sell food though that's prob too young for your child.
Hope you have a great trip!

You can buy yogurt (although TBH I'd not bother as waaay too messy in a confined enviroment) airside at T5. You prob won't be able to take it through security

DS likes a mixture of different cereal types (Cheerios, Raisin wheats, apricot wheats, vogels)and dried fruit (apricots, dates, dried apple, raisins, pineapple)in a bag which is tidy and interesting.

We like Salt n Shake crisps as you can take the salt sachet out, and eat as is.

Packets of mini cheddars and digestives are goo too.

Thankyou cmotdibbler your ideas are great the salt & shake are good as well I will look out for them

Yes, no problem. Its liquids, gels and pastes that are an issue.

Taking our two to NZ, I made them a little pack of finger sized sandwiches which went down really well. Also cucumber sticks etc area good. They all just went in little plastic containers with no problem at all.
