With the euro and the pound nearly being equal...

That does not make it impossible at all. FLights are the same, food will be more but often it was cheaper anyway, so it evens out anyway if rate has changed.

Accommodation will be the thing that will show a difference most, but it is not such a huge difference to not have the holiday at all.

I don't think it is. Our summer holiday on a farm in Germany is costing £41 for the ferry, 400 euros for the accomodation (I bought the euros on a fairfx card in November when exchange rate was 1.20 and paid £321, would be £358 now) and however much the diesel will come to. Will take a fair bit of food with us. Lots of stuff to do on the farm for the children for free and I found in France last year zoos etc were cheaper than over here anyway so hoping the same in Germany.

Also off to Duinrell with Eurocamp at Easter which is costing £181 for 6 nights and Mr Tesco has kindly paid for Eurotunnel. Again will take food, there is 2 hours a day swimming for the children and a theme park or something attached which is free to keep them busy. I think we'll spend a fair bit less than if we tried to the equivalent over here.

I am going to keep an eye of the euro and when it's at a rate that I think is OK I will load some more on my Fairfx card I think.
