Going to enrol for ECDL tommorrow (flexible learning). Any advice?

I've got my £200 ILA, so it's only going to cost me £15. I work part time, so I'm going to do it at home, flexibly, with support from my local college.

There are 7 modules, and I'll - hopefully - be able to do some with my eyes shut, ie, the word processing and the internet one. But I have no idea how to use databases, and I sometimes use Excel at work, but mostly on a trial-and-error basis.

The college has said that most people take 12 months to do it. I'm notorious for starting things then giving up halfway through, when I get bored. So, should I start with the things I can't do, and leave the easy things till last, or should I do one easy, one hard?

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks. You've inspired me. I have a terrible habit of talking myself out of doing things before I even start.

I've been sitting thinking that I might not have time to fit it in, or that it might be too difficult. But I'm determined to do it.

I'd suggest doing the ones you find easy first - that way you'll be feeling "I've already got 3/7 of it done, it would be daft to stop now" Each module is different, so I don't think you'd get bored. I'm sure you won't find it too difficult, but the modules for things you haven't done before will obviously take a bit longer. But you can do it flexibly so I'm sure you'll find slots you can fit it in.

AMIS, that's a good idea. I like your thinking. I think I might do two easy ones, then four more challenging ones, then finish on an easy one.
