IME cheaper now, but check out all the wesites - prices vary. Depending on where in France you are going, Dover-Dunkirk is often cheaper than to Calais, but 30mins further north.

We did eurotunnel last year and will do it again this year - got a good price booking early.

Norfolk line is advertising at £19.

Eurotunnel is definitely cheaper if booked as early as possible. Prices start to creep up until they sell out or get very pricey IMO

Going near Caen
erotunnel no good we went to Calais last time and it took ages to drive all the way (about 7 hours) there is a Brittany Ferries farry to Cherbourg that takes a couple of hours that looks possible

1dilemma if the place you are staying advertises with Brittany Ferries you will get 20% reduction off their advertised fares. They should have told you this when you booked with them! I don't think the price changes at all if you book nearer the time....
