what's it like?
is it massivly expensive? would it be ok for a 4 and 8 year old?

is it really worth the 50 minute train ride to get there?

We are planning to go later in the month - I have a 5 and a 3 year old so will be interested in anyone's experience/advice.

I'd be curious to know what it's like, too ... haven't been.

We went last year and are going on Sunday (assuming my cough and cold ridden DD's are well enough)Was very nice last year..lots of stalls and stuff to see and just well, christmassy I suppose..got us feeling nice and festive..
Is quite expensive.Of course.Take what you would expect to pay for things.Realise you are in central London.Add the obligatory gazillion quid But what price festive-ness eh?

Last years Haunted House was a weird choice though, wasn't it? We went lunchtime mid-week last year and it was empty.

Mamazontopofsanta · 02/12/2008 11:24

what sort of things are there?
we wont be ice skating and will only do the wheel if the que's are ok.

is there plenty of iother things or is it all shopping stalls?

If it's like last year there is a nice wheel (you are in little cabins), fairground rides (carousel, little planes), bavarian-christmas-market style shops, big slide, helter-skelter, one of these simulaton rides that looks like a mini caravan and makes you sick, food tent, haunted house... and ice skating. You may be able to pre-book the wheel. I think they have a website.

Here is the website, the latest news bit has a video of last year's event.

Thanks for the tip btw, I hadn't heard of it last year!

Lots of little rides and things as well as stalls. We wont be skating either as DD's too little but think they will like to watch for a bit.

This looks fab - we'll be in London 29th/30th Dec so probably up for a visit!
