The No 44 bus used to go from the centre of Dublin to Enniskerry when I was a girl.....but that was over 3 decades ago!! And you would still have to get from the airport to the centre of the city to catch it. Enniskerry is not on a train line.
Have you considered hiring a car? I think it would cost about £10 per day for a small, economy type car and it might be useful for getting around. Enniskerry is a lovely place but it is relatively isolated.

I live a stones throw from Enniskerry and would recommend getting the train to Bray and then a taxi to Powerscourt.

Take the Blue Bus from the airport (I can't remember the proper name). There are two of them so make sure you get the one that goes via the DART (train line). Take the DART to Bray and then either take a taxi or catch the 185 bus, timetable here.

Alternatively, take the Blue Bus and get off at St Stevens Green (I think both Blue Bus services stop there) and either take the 44 bus to Enniskerry or take the LUAS (tram line) to Balally and catch the 44 from there. Timetable here. Double check when you get on that it's going to Enniskerry as I think sometimes it's a 44c which terminates before Enniskerry.

Well, now that's a good question.

TBH I drive to and from Dublin, Bray, everywhere infact, haven't used a taxi in 20 years.

I'd hazard a guess at between 15 and 20 euro, but don't quote me on that.

Go with TnOg's suggestion before mine, as she actually lives there and I only visit my parents occasionally, and they usually pick me up either from the airport or from the Blue Bus.

The airport bus is a good idea, Bran.

Infact the more I think about it, maybe it would be eaisier than getting into Dublin to the train station, it would be more direct and may work out cheaper.

The Aircoach (that's the correct name for the Blue Bus) also has a new route that goes to Bray in less than an hour, which is pretty good. It's not very frequent though, timetable here. If the timing of your flight is right this would definitely be the quickest and easiest in combination with either a taxi from Bray or the 185 bus (which isn't very frequent). In fact, it would only be slower than other routes if you had more than 30 mins to wait for the Aircoach.

The other routes go every 10 to 20 minutes but they go through the centre of town so they take much longer. According to their estimate it would take 40 mins just to get to central Dublin where you would change for the LUAS, then it would be 15 mins on the LUAS to Balally and I would guess nearly an hour on the 44 bus from Balally to Enniskerry. Plus waiting time for both the LUAS and the 44 (and the 44 isn't a particularly frequent bus). (TnOg are they still digging up the Dundrum Road so that you can only go towards town on it? If there's still a diversion in operation that would affect how long it would take to get to Enniskerry on the 44.)

Finally you could get the Leopardstown Blue Bus to Bewley's Hotel in Sandyford (which is where it turns around and heads back to the airport) and get a taxi from there, it's slightly further than from Bray and the Blue Bus takes longer to get there but the bus is more frequent. I would say it's about 30 mins from there to Enniskerry. Taxi fares here.

Hope you have a great time (and that you don't blame me if you get lost on the way there ).
