Well they are 250ml so over 100ml - the limit for liquids in hand baggage.

I just chanced it in the summer and my carry on bag was not checked going through security.

Alternatively buy them at Boots once through security.

Have flown to nz twice via hong kong and singapore once when 9 months and second flight when 2. first time took about 5 9oz bottles of boiled, sterile water to make up formula on flight. Second time carried milk of the same size. No problems at all going thru security... though was definately expecting to have to get rid of the bottles of water! No one even looked at the bottles, i just explained was carrying liquid to make up formula or milk for toddler.

when i flew to south africa this time last year, no-one seemed to mind how many bottles of 'growing up milk' i had in hand luggage for my 14 month old. due to fly to perth in jan. with my 7 month old. will be taking cartons of formula with me, but will also be prepared to buy cartons once through security incase i come across a jobs worth. may even try ringing airport beforehand to get formula cartons put by.

they won't let you take cartons through as they insist on you tasting the contents, which clearly you can't do. Best idea is to ring the Boots in the departure lounge and check that they have some. Or alternatively, take a bag with some of the powdered formula in so you can make it up once through or on flight.

I agree, get from Boots airside.

I was told that you can call ahead and get them reserve what you need. If you give enough notice they should even be able to bring in stuff that they dont usually have (so my local Boots tell me).

Also remember that if you are connecting to another flight (especially Singapore) any liquids will probably be removed from you at second check in.

Absolutely, go for boots - but ring and book it first (have done so myself!), but you can still have a problem if you have a stop somewhere.

I have also bought before getting onto the plane, and they don't enforce the 100 ml limit for baby milk/food. When they asked me to taste them, I asked them to pick one. They picked one ready made milk and one food in a tub, which I then tasted. (Make sure THEY pick it). I then just used that one first so no problem!

In Singapore they are friendly as, when it comes to children, and when I stopped there on the way to Australia, they asked me what was in the bag, when I said it was for the baby, I was just about ushered through they were so sweet .
