Countries?
Accomodation?
Food and fun?
Travel?

How low can you go? All things considered.

  1. House exchange - just pay for travel and meals.
  1. Sure camping is the next cheapest option but I'm out of date on prices.
  1. Only visited Turkey recently, but this can be quite cheap, so can quote you.

Flights - Fly pegasus from London Stansted to bodrum (tickets released in February)c. £120 pp. Easyjet flies from LGW to Dalaman for around the same price.. tickets released very shortly.

Accommodation -for e.g. an apartment from c.£150
Transfers c. £50 return airport to resort

Breakfast - do what I do and bring cheap Uk cereals as part of your luggage

all other eating out - turkish meals c. 7-10 lire (about £3-4 a head). Or make picnics from the market, fruit and veg very cheap. Buy rotesserie chicken for £2 each, bake potatoes at apartment for cheap night in.

All day boat trips including lunch from c. £6 p.p. Use cheap buses for other day trips.

So somewhere between £1,000-£1,200 for 1-2 weeks, even in school summer hols. Plus getting to the airport.

(P.S. Everything sounds expensive to my ears now we're a family of four!)

1st or 2nd week of Sept - France. Prices drop like a stone but the weather is still nice and hot (France in Sept last year). Return budget flights, car hire and rental of a 3 bed gite plus a shared pool near La Rochelle came to under £450 basic cost - that's 2 adults, 1 child & 1 infant. I also costed a normal 2 bed chalet at the centerparc near Longleat and that was more expensive despite us only living 2hrs' drive away at the time. Guess which I chose!
Budget will be hard if you're tied to school holidays - are you?
