So I phoned up our travel insurance folks to make sure I was still covered even though I'll be around 6m pg when we go and after much faffing it turned out they didn't cover anything to do with pg or childbirth!

Which was interesting enough in itself, but THEN they said they also wouldn't cover us for one-way travel at all - and nor, said the most helpful assistant, would any travel ins co in the UK!

Is he kidding me? Surely if you are emigrating you can still get some kind of travel insurance, fgs? Esp if you are pg?!

tia!

I moved back to Aust last year after 10yrs in the UK - so not really emigrating.

I was pregnant at the time, only 3m and I don't think we actually got any insurance !!

I cannot believe there is no one prepared to insure you because you are preg. Surely those blood sucking insurance companies would cover you in you paid them enough!!

Could you contact a travel agent and ask if they know and companies that cover preg women or find an online travel insurance comparison site.

Actually just remembered we did get insurance but can't remember who with...

I still have baby brain!! Or lack of...

If I can rememeber who the ins was with I will let you know. It was an online travel company tho - not a well know name.

(me trying to think!!

Ahh at last!

Just found this site after doing a history search. We must have used a company on here. If you click on FAQ there is a question on travel ins if you are pregnant. It does seem that you can get covered.

Good luck!

Thanks, Superloopy. I think their main problem is that it is one-way travel, more than the pregnant thing. Hope your thinker comes up with the goods.

There is an option for one way coverage. Can't see why that could be a problem tho! Insurance companies just love making up their own rules!!
