Day trip to London tomorrow to see Santa in Harrods will it be a nightmare

with a six year old, a two year old and a six month old.

Should we try and go on the London Eye and if so do you just go along and pay and queue or do you book in advance. oh I'm not very well organised am I?

Queues for the London Eye can be VERY long. If you do go, try getting there REALLY early. Same with seeing Santa, I should imagine.

You have booked for Santa, haven't you? In which case, you turn up at your alloted time and wait a maximum of 30 mins. Last year, the line shuffled along most of the time and there were some nice paintings and animated fairies etc to look at so it wasn't too bad. Wouldn't bother with London Eye unless the adults really want to go. Two year old will be bored and 6 year old will probably only be interested for about 5 mins!

I wouldn't bother with the London Eye, my kids (similar ages weren't impressed!) I'd try the children's park at Kensington gardens (if weather is good) or watching the buskers at Covent Garden if it isn't. I hope you've booked for Harrods, you can't just turn up these days. The queue is quite fun with magicians and entertainment to keep you going.

also wouldnt bother with the london eye, if the weathers bad you cant really see anything and its not really for little ones.

We went yesterday and it was great, there was captain hook, cinderella, mrs christmas and that was before we went through. Father christmas was very good my kids loved it, they got a sticker book, choclate coin and a badge.

No no longer than half hour, there is things to look at while you are waiting. My kids loved it.

Santa at Harrods was lovely - we picked the worse day to go as the Lord Mayors show was on and all the roads were blocked. We ended up being an hour late but phoned Harrods who were great they said just come along when we can. When we got there - there was no queues which was great, it did not cost to see Santa which was a nice bonus, the only cost was the photograph which was £9.95 - not bad. I personally think it was well worth the trip. We did go on the London eye which everyone enjoyed, we fast tracked so that cut out the queues again.

Only problem was - where do people park in London? There was NO parking available anywhere, next time I think we will get the train.

We go to harrods to see father christmas every year with the dc's we park in harley street its free parking at weekends and its only a ten minute walk from oxford street an dthe tube station

Harley St - is that were all the medical places are? I will remember that for next time, whats the nearest tube station to there do you know?

Regent's Park Tube. it can be V hard to get a park there though.

park on that road nearest tube we use is oxford street but look on the map my be one closer in the opposite direction
I park there whenever i go to london at weekends

Just looked at the map - if only we had known that last week, I imagine you would have to be lucky to actually get a space there though, is there restrictions on how long you can park for? We would like somewhere where we could park up for the day.

Use an NCP - there are plenty although they are pricey. Personally I take public transport in London as it's so expensive to park and nightmarish busy roads.

Harrods Santa is good - they really have got their act together and the queues aren't hideously long. The tickets are by timeslot so you only have to queue for about 45 mins (certainly beats the 3.5hours the first time we went!)

Harrods Santa is great, but made me laugh. There are so many Santas all in their own little rooms (so the children only see one santa) we call it the Santa Brothel!
An elf guides you through to the Sunshine Room, or the Snowdrop Room.
Brilliantly done though.

at weekends there are no resctictions we park there all day
