hello everyone

Please be gentle, this is my first ever post

Any recommendations or advice about the drive between San francisco and LA? I will be 24 weeks (my first pregnancy) when we start out, and so far have been totally fine with pregnancy health, so I am hoping no real problems....

Any advice on how many stops we should do along the way to rest legs and ease bladder???

Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
SJWgal

Did the drive about 15 years ago - we took a week to do it. Spend some time in San Fran (it is my favourite US city), Monterrey is worth a day or so, the drive along the clieff tops (the one you see in all the films) is fantastic. Santa Barbara as well, and so many other places. Can't comment on the pg aspect of it (check the name) but the drive is fantastic, enjoy.

To give you some idea, i have taken the Pacific Coast Highway route and taken 5 days but have also taken the Interstate 5 and done it in a day and a half. The PCH is the more pleasant but i would say that you should plan properly if you take that route as it can be quite long distances between available Motel/hotels. The PCH is a very special drive. If you go that way, here are a few sights. Hearst Castle, Solvang,Madonna Inn, Winchester Mystery House, 17 mile drive/pebble beach, Carmel and Monterey Aquarium. (Haven't been for a while but I think Hearst Castle needs to be booked at least i day in advance. Make sure for this part of the journey you have places to stay. Don't go too fast, make sure you enjoy what you see and go back to see anything you missed on another visit.
