Eurodisney - tips please - I'm clueless!!

Have booked a midweek break at Eurodisney in 2 weeks time - it was an absolute bargain.

Absolutely clueless about where to start. Our DDs are 5 and 2. Any tips? How does it all work? We're staying at Davy Crockett, but hope to spend most days on the complex. Is it best to just go with the flow, or march everyone round with a set itinerary each day? Thanks!

I would go with the flow and just have a great time. I'd probably suggest starting in the main DLP park - and heaf for Fantasyland - that's where the magic is - and the characters and the children's rides.

We took DD to Disney when she was 2y 4m and she loved it all, and adored all the rides. We are also staying at Davy Crockett in June - let me know how it is please

That's why there are bargains - term time! Well mine is.

However, 2 week's time is school holidays for some schools.

Well, if aimed at me , I won't be a teacher then though . I have 12 week's holiday to take whenever I want to take them. And DD isn't at school yet.

Not that I am excited or anything 4 schools days left!!! And we saved almost £1500 by taking our holiday in June rather than our usual August.

Anyway, back to thread - sorry for interrupting.

i have been twice and just flow with it....but if you want to go on the big rides or popular ones you must use your fast pass...its all explained in the site map which you will gat at the entrance gates....make sure you collect an english one though.

oh yeah big tip.....when the kids see a character they must just go for it and get a a photo, all manners need to go out the window, they will have to push with the rest of them, so will you. its not that its madness its just all the kids want to seee them, and the french ARE NOT THAT WELL MANNNERED AS TO WAIT THEIR TURN.

I would definitely go with the flow - you should be able to see what you want to see and do the rides you like more than once. Since you're going on the off-season it shouldn't be too bad. I've been to all of the Disneylands and the one in Paris is actually one of the smallest and I found it easy to do what I wanted in one day.

Have a great time! Once we move to the UK, we plan to go with our infant son and take turns on the big rides.

Do you have a contact number or web-site for davy crockett? We are in ireland and schools finish around mid june (secondary end of may) so no need for "cod" to be concerned....!

Ferrys out of ireland will cost us 1400 euros - pretty steep as we are a family of 7 so would really appreciate a june bargain!!!

I just went into the travel agents last week. No hotel rooms left at Eurodisney, so just checked the self drive option at Davey Crockett and it came up £400 for the 5 days for all 4 of us!!!

COD - Hubby has been made redundant, and has a week off before his new job starts, so we just had to bite the bullet. Don't worry, have cleared it with the school (still feel a bit guilty though!)

No website I don't think - as its part of the Disney "thing" although 15 minute drive from the site. I think the deal was through Cresta though. It was cheap I think because it was last minute! You could maybe save money by camping at Davy Crockett if you've got a very large tent. Its in the Michelin France camping guide. Although that ferry cost is a nightmare!

Have a look at these websites www.disboards.com & www.dlp.info. Loads of brill info & tips. We've been 3 times & are going again at the end of August, haven't stayed at the davey crockett before. I second the advice about the 'character greetings' they can be a real scrum. A man in his twenties (maybe Italian) pushed by 6yr old dd out of the way so he could get a photo of his wife/girlfriend with donald duck - no children just her! Have a character breakfast - a very civilised way to get loads of nice photos.

got brilliant deals on cheap flights into paris -half the ferry cost(1700 from ireland); sorted the campsites- 6 nights in fountainbleau for eurodisney, and 9 at fierbois, loire. Now find the car hire for a 7 seater is around a thousand euros!! can you ever really save ANYTHING!!!!??
anyway if anyone can recommend a car hire place that may offer us a better deal i'd be truelly grateful! (there was an offer of 600 euro for the two weeks and hubby thought it was a bit of a bargain - but i was busy working out campsites and missed the deal (he can do this next year)

Oh god , think i've been taken for a ride! .We've just paid £1,850 for 3 nights in the easter holidays. Staying at the New York , 4 adults , 4yo ds & 19months dd.

Have just got back - am loaded up with tips and info. Will update this thread with them soon as I've come back down to earth. Laurawaterford: Is it one of those tents thats already there? Sounds like a good idea to me what you've done - no advice to give re. car hire though. How far is campsite to Disney? Is it train-able?

There is a shopping centre not far (when the name comes back to me I will post it, which we used to get our lunches in as the food in Eurodisney is so expensive and not very varied, unless you want to pay even more. It also gives you a chance for some retail therapy!

Well you are going Midweek so that is half the battle - the queues won't be so taxing.

Echo the advice on getting a fastpass.
