HELP

I booked a holday, but didn't take the travel insurance out at the time as it is a total rip-off, and decided to shop around at a later date.

Trouble is, i have what they call 'a pre-existing medical condition.' I was treated for early cervical cancer in October, and though the treatment was successful, I have to be checked up ever six Months at the hospital.

So after looking online, and phoning quite a few insurance companies, most wont touch me with a 'barge pole' as one not very nice insurance man told me on the phone earlier....charming!

He did also say that there are some that specialise in this - but i can't seem to find any information anywhere.

Does any one have any ideas please?

I know most of these posts are for travel insurance for existing conditions, but this post is for pregnant ladies who want to travel well into their pregnancy.

I have finally found someone who will provide travel insurance up to 36 weeks pregnancy. I found them through contacting the British Insurance Brokers Association. The company are called PHA (0845 634 2500) and the insurance package is with a company called IHA. They will cover you for up to £170,000 of medical expenses for you/baby as long as you conceived naturally and are only carrying one child.

For a 10 day trip to Italy in May when I will be 34 weeks it cost me £54 - quite steep when you compare it to annual cover, but for the peace of mind I think it's worth it.

The company haven't asked for any medical reports or anything - the policy seems really comprehensive (and covers you for all the usual travel cover e.g. lost luggage, delays etc) and it took 5 minutes to organise.
