London shows - good choice for a family to go and see - any ideas?

Its mine and my SIL's 40th birthdays next Jan/Mar so I thought maybe we could all go to London and see a show/have a meal to celebrate both in Feb next year. There will be 10 of us including 4 children - 6,8,10,12. Any ideas as to a good choice. My ds loves Queen so initially I thought We Will Rock You but dont know if its suitable fo kids - plus it would have to include Dont stop me Know as thats its favourite, does it do you know? DH and I saw Mamma Mia ages ago so perhaps not that one.

If you can get tickets, Lion King is a good possibility.

What about Sound of Music or Joseph? Agree Lion King also great.

we will rock you is fab... my dd has seen it twice and still talks about it - she probably was 8 her first time.

Have a look at lastminute - you can get some really good deals there... especially if you look at dinner/show options.

Lion King, Sound of Music or Wicked is good for the range of age groups.

lastminute is good for tickets. Peacock theatre and Saddlers Wells also have good shows and more reasonably priced than in other places.

Is the song "dont stop me now" in We will Rock you?

haven't seen we will rock you, so don't know

Hairspray is terrific, as is Sound of Music

We're going to The Sound of Music for DS's birthday in a few weeks. Is Hairspray Ok for kids? Mind you, i've got tickets for 3 ballets as well, probably should give that credit card a rest.

I took dd1 and her 2 friends to it - they're 8.

DS is 9 soon, DD1 is 3.5 but well up for musicals and ballets. I've just got an email from lastminute about a 48 hour theatre tickets sale. It's not looking good for my credit card.
