We're off to Center Parcs in Elveden in a couple of weeks. Can anyone give advice on the do's and don'ts and what we shouldn't miss etc.

There is also nothing to stand on when you get out of the bath, so take a towel specifically for that.

We took lots of bird food and nuts with us.

Also took a disposable barbecue.

They do offer a shopping service where you can pre-order expensive food at your villa. Decided against that. You'll need to take things like loo roll and all your self catering stuff like washing up liquid. I remember there was a new cloth and sponge supplied though!

We're off to Sherwood during Easter hols, really looking forward to it.

Does anyone know the difference between executive and standard villas. We treid to book and exec one but there weren't any left so have gone for standard. Does it make much difference?

Ems · 04/03/2003 15:13

Kiizie, its not a huge difference, things like dishwasher, cleaner each morning, telephone, towels ... cant think what else at the mo, you can easily live without the exec villa! Although we had one last week and felt very spoilt!! (think that was just my husband, realising he didnt have to do the washing up for the first time at CenterParcs!)

Check the brochure or website, as they can be different.

PS: You can buy in those things you dont have eg; the cleaner or towels, just phone the reservation number.

Kizzie,
As Ems says - not much difference at all - the best thing for us was the en-suites as we were sharing with friends - but it doesn't make much odds otherwise ! The towels are useful as it saves the room in the car - but they aren't exactly thick soft luxury towels anyway. The phone was quite useful - until it mysteriously and quite scarily rang two nights running in the night at 2am and woke everyone up !

Sadly we didn't have a dishwasher at Longleat - well none other than me anyway !

I'm going again in May and we're in a comfort one then - basically they are the same but the execs are a tad more smartly decked out.

Great - thanks for replying. The exec ones seem to get booked up v quickly!

Just to add , the babysitting service is great and very good value. Mostly available in the evenings but can be had in the day sometimes. The creches when we went were only for 3 years and above but it may have changed since we last went (in 2001)
