ANYONE BEEN TO CENTER PARCS EURO??

We are looking at center parcs europe for next year. Thinking Holland as their school holidays are different to ours.
Anyone know which is the best way to travel?? I would drive but DH said no

Any ideas welcome

sorry Lisa...not 100% sure but I know a friend of a friend goes on ferry and it works out same total cost as in teh UK...but apparently the accomodation etc. is much nicer.

How are DD2's eyes? Was that this week or next?

thanks but works out £500 for 6 of us including ferry, in school holidays so is a good saving.

We see the specialist monday, Im just about holding it all together.

We're in south London so we are driving via Eurotunnel. Our park in Holland is 3 hours from the tunnel, and some are even closer.

Erperheide in Belgium is very nice, and not so far to drive. School holidays in Belgium are the whole of July and August.

£600 - is that Oct? and 4 nights? Sounds like a good deal...

well a week in Oct half term at one in holiday is £350 plus |£75 ferry. And that is 7 days!

We have been to Kempervennen, in Brabant, NL and Lac d'Ailette, neir Laon, FR.

For Kempervennen, we took the Channel Tunnel and then drove on the autoroute east. We actually had a couple of days in Amsterdam so ended up turning left at Antwerp. Kempervennen itself is not very far from Antwerp.

Was there this summer and a few summers ago and enjoy it much better then UK CP.

We go over with another family, the blokes drive over (harwich - hook) and rest of family flies over Ryanair. It works out cheaper than paying for extra passengers on ferry. We took the overnight ferry so got to CP well ahead of family, unpacked the car, had a swim (played on flumes and rapids without kids - yeh) then drove to the airport to pick up family.

So saved money, didn't put dcs through 12 hour journey, and filled the car so the dcs had everything they wanted including bikes.

if you go late August dutch kids go back to school mid august so prices go down. And if you go to Holland and your dcs are in the 5 -11 age range you must go to Efteling.

That does sound like a very organised Dad.....if a bit of a faff.

Takes a bit of planning but:

I have a peaceful drive without the "are we nearly there yet?" shortly after we have left the drive.

The kids don't have 12 hours of travelling.

And when the family arrives everything is already unpacked and the supermarket shop has been done.

And nobody starts the holiday completely knackered.

We went to Port Zelande in Holland in April. 4 hours max drive from Calais, really nice drive up, stop at Sluis for pic-nic, kids love the goats! Excellent site, deluxe villa cost us 450 euros for midweek, and had our own sauna, 10/10 for everything.
