Our first visit to Farmer Palmers this year - fantastic

Took dds to Farmer Palmers this afternoon and we have all had a wonderful time - although a bit chilly. It feels like such a long time since the summer and dds ran around out there like they had never been there before. They now have a new indoor play area which was great for us to go into for half an hour and warm up. We normally go for a whole day but only had an afternoon to spare this time. I think we crammed more into this shorter visit. We managed to see a few baby animals but they said that it is still a bit early in the season and there should be more coming later. Aaaaaaahhhhhhh! Fantastic.

Anyone else seen this new play area. It's fantastic what they have done with the spare space between two buildings.

Haven't been there yet but my MIL talks about it alot (although she hasn't been there either!) It's worth going to then?!

SPARKLER1 · 15/02/2005 21:21

Definitely. Do you live locally? How old is your child/children?

We're in Southampton - MIL in Weymouth. My boys are 3 and 18m and big into farms

AuntyQuated · 15/02/2005 21:27

where is it?

Tommy · 15/02/2005 21:31

Bournemouth way I think but i guess Sparkler will be back in a mo to tell us exactly! (I hope)

SPARKLER1 · 15/02/2005 21:40

They say it is suitable for children up to the age of 8. It is just off A31 between Poole and Bere Regis.

Lots to do. Play barn, gift shop, animal barn, tractor ride, swings, playhouses and climb-ons on sand pit, bouncy castles, go karts, ball pool, new indoor play area, feed the animals, cafe, pedal tractors. Loads 'n' loads.

Definitely get there this summer I think

lunavix · 16/02/2005 09:26

I was thinking of taking ds there for his 1st birthday is there stuff I could do with him there? Or is he too young?

SPARKLER1 · 17/02/2005 22:58

Sorry Lunavix just seen your post. I wouldn't personally hold a 1st birthday party as such there but a day out would be quite sweet I guess. There's loads for the older children to do. You could still do stuff with a little one though. See the animals, stroke them, they have a baby swing in the barn, you could ride on the bumpy tractor if you think baby was brave enough. In the summer they have a nice picnic area so you could take a picnic blanket and let little one run/crawl around.

I live in Spain but I used to live in Parkstone.

SPARKLER1 · 17/02/2005 23:10

SPARKLER1 · 17/02/2005 23:17

SPARKLER1 · 17/02/2005 23:20

Canford Heath to be exact. Which side of Parkstone did you live?

OP posts:
lucy5 · 17/02/2005 23:22

Only someone who had lived in Parkstone would say that hahaha. North of the Ashley road, wrong side by all accounts.

SPARKLER1 · 17/02/2005 23:23

I was that side too.

Just off the Ashley road, turn off just opposite kfc

SPARKLER1 · 17/02/2005 23:32

I know where you mean. The name of the road is bugging me though. Near Cranbrook Road somewhere wasn't it?
