We are thinking of using our Tesco clubcard vouchers to fund part of a trip to Disneyland Paris. We'd like to pay not more than £700-£800 for a 4 night break, is this possible? For 2 adults adn 2 children (8&4)

Do you think 3 nights is enough? Or is there plenty to seefor 4 nights?

Which hotel should we stay in? Don't want to be too far from the action. We're going on Eurostar.

Sorry Champagne minded and ginger beer pocketed at the moment. TIA.

Only ever been for a day trip, with 50 Year 10s in tow! I would say that three nights is going to be plenty. I have friend who has been for Christmas for the past two years and has booked for this year. They only go for two nights.

We took my sister when she was 8, stayed for 2 nights, 3 would have been better. Stayed in the hotel that's like a Hamptons yacht club - can't remember the name but perfectly adequate, good pool and not too far for the 4/day walk.

Rhiannon, you wont need more than 3 nights, Prufock is talking about Newport Bay Club Hotel, lovely but quite expensive, the thing is there are so many options price wise, look at Hotel Cheyenne or Hotel Santa Fe, quite small rooms with 2 double beds in, but you dont need a big room, you are so busy at the park. You can walk to the park from there, or catch the little bus. If you wanted to be more holidayish and not be in the park all the time, then the Newport Bay and New York hotel have pools etc and other facilities.

As you walk into Disney there is a shopping mall area with cinemas and restaurants good for early evening.

It is fantastic going on Eurostar, straight there, they even give you luggage tags on board for the hotel and when you arrive you can go to the park (they give you map and tickets) and they transfer your luggage to the hotel, it worked brilliantly!

It does add up, but is really good fun.

We've booked for the May half term. Has anyone stayed at the Davy Crockett Ranch? Any other tips / hints? DD2 will be nearly 4 and well (about a year) out of a buggy - but would it be a good idea to take it? All info will be gratefully received, but please not too negative, I'm as excited as the kids about this holiday.

Euro Disney - LESS IS MORE !
we did 3 days ( half a day to long )

a ) get in very early and you can get all the characters' autographs -Kids love it
b ) Small room - no matter as you will be out in the park
c ) fireworks are great but you can see then ( 10-11pm ) as you walk home
d ) evening parade great fun as is the Disney parade
e ) take your own juice as the kids get thirsty and they do try and fleece you
f ) get the "FAST track" which allows you to prebook the time you visit the popular rides - otherwise you queue for over an hour ( NO EXTRA COST )
g ) Big breakfast at the hotle = small lunch at the park
I could go on -!!!

emsiewill,

You probably won't need to take the buggy as you can borrow one in the park if need be. The park is not that vast and there are plenty of distractions along the way.

It is worth pacing yourselves and taking in a show or two just to get a break. Probably worth doing your homework beforehand, planning your route and making a beeline for one particular highlight at a time.

Have a great time,

helenmc · 30/03/2003 19:56

Hiring a buggy isn;t free in Paris unlike Florida - but they are good solid buggies suitable for older kids (mine were 5 and 8). when the main parade is on is another good time to go for the popular rides,. Have fun!!

Bron, how was it? I'm dying to know - give it me straight, good & bad.

DLP is brilliant. We went last July and are hoping to go again in November. Check out these websites:- www.disboards.com & www.dlp-guidebook (can't do those 'link' things!)

Went with all four last May while breastfeeding:

Eurostar is brilliant

Newport Bay Hotel good but busy busy busy all the time: has interconnecting rooms

Take what snacks and drinks you can carry as I agree: they do fleece you on those

Fireworks are fantastic - worth keeping little ones up once for

Disney Studios does cartoon drawing lessons - great for 7-11's

EARPLUGS, unless you like relentless Happy Music - it drove me demented

Take fleeces - the site is bigger and windier than you would imagine, and it can be surprisingly cold

I would really like to take DS (4 in July) on his own to Disneyland. Would I be mad to go for 3 days in July when I will be 7 months pregnant?. Am a bit worried about the heat and all the walking not to mention the crowds. If I go earlier though I will have to take 17 month old DD as well and she isn't walking yet. I would have thought that having the two of them on my own might make going on rides etc difficult.

CAM · 24/04/2003 11:16

I've recently booked to go in early September with dd (age 6) and dh. We arranged to go at the same time as dd's best friend (also an only dd aged 6) so that our girls have someone to go on the rides with. We're not staying in the same hotels but will meet up every day. Have to admit I'm now looking forward to it although I think that our 3 nights/4 days will be as much I can cope with!

Gilli · 24/04/2003 23:52

Bron - don't really understand about fireworks as we went at beginning of July last year and park was open until 11pm every evening
