Club la Costa - anyone been on the 'free' holiday?

We;ve been invited to go to a Club la Costa showcase where we will be given 50 gift voucher and a free holiday - just paying 30.00 each and any taxes, just for attending the 2 hour sales pitch. It's tempting as we need a holiday! Anyone done this and what was it like? WE';ve got a 3yr old and an 8mth old that we would be taking on the holiday with us.

It's a scam.
There have been lots of previous threads on this very subject if you do a search.

Dont think it is exactly a scam, you get the holiday for going to the meeting dont you?
My MIL did this a few yrs ago and she signed up to the thing and paid about £3000, but it turned out not that good a deal in the end. Think you have to pay for flights and transfers yourself iirc.
Also the hotels they put you in are nice but a way out of the resorts so you need to get taxis all the time.

I really wouldnt consider it

You would prob be better off getting a last min deal

Well, not a scam as such, they don't just take your money and run, but you do have to sit through hours of timeshare presentations, with the accompanying hard sell, here and in the resort and there are so many strings and restrictions that it's not worth it.

i've won the free holiday have to go to the sales pitch in a couple of weeks just wondered has anyone heard of anyone who has been on the free holiday without buying into the timeshare? they say its return flights are included, but we are a family of 6 and the holiday is for 4 so maybe thats how they make their money

Don't go. There is no such thing as a free holiday. The sales pitch is horrendous and you feel like signing just to get out.

Be warned signing for a 3 year deal is binding when the ink touches the paper and not good value. You have a cooling off period for a longer term.

If you can survive the sales pitch without committing then they will have to give you your free holiday but there will be tight conditions and you will be pressured into attending another dreaded pitch whilst you are on holiday.
