Little toys to keep ds (2) amused on plane journey

I went out to the shops today to try and find several little toys that I could wrap for ds to play with on the plane and hopefully keep amused along with books. Came back empty handed. There is nothing that either doesn't make a noise, or a mess which will p... off other passengers. Has anyone got any ideas?

Just had a look at Tridas, I think I will get the whoope cushion (hours of fun ) and the extreme parachute just in case .

Seriously good price for the lizards and the bendy ballerina looks a good choice too.

Woolworths do a great "tube" of mini play dohs - about eight colours from memory. Worth their weight in gold.

We took ds twins on their first flight, at 22 months, but it was only a couple of hours to Germany.

There wasn't much room to take anything so I went into ASDA and bought a pack of jotters (about 60p for 5) and a few packs of crayons (about 15p each.) That kept them entertained, as well as their books and if we lost a crayon there were no tears as would have been if we had lost part of a toy. I now carry a couple of jotters and pack of crayons wherever we go, just in case!

comics with their favourite characters on

lots of stories, games you can play

talking about characters

and it won't really matter if they get lost.

They don't take up much space either

Bob the Builder gift set from Woolies - £10. DS had it already and we took it with us. He played with them on a 9 hour flight and for 4 weeks on holiday.

I fly with three children at least once a month to Sweden. I always give mine chocolates/sweets during take-off and landing. And I bring card games and puzzles. Certain airlines, like Scandinavian airlines give out little pressies for kids, but we have got 650 mooses in our house now because we fly so much....he he.
