can anyone recommend a cheap, basic hotel/bed and breakfast that's clean and things that a 9 year old might like to do? I've been told that they have some B&B's where the owner will be like a parisian tour guide?
It's our very first holiday and I want to make sure he has a great time.
Are the french understanding of excitable children? We don't speak alot of french so does anyone know if they are more tolerant if you try?

Thanks in advance.

Def. for the cemetery! Also if he's active, Jardin d'acclimatation in Neuilly. Has rides, trampolines, golf, boats, animals...My 8 year old nephew loved it. Versailles is mad at this time of year and also HUGE so quite daunting for kids. Paris Plage is on at the moment (fake beach lined up along the Seine, lots of things going on, musicians, street artists, etc)

Hi icod. I think your itenary's been posted on here with your thread. It sounds like you had a fab time. We need somewhere cheap and clean to stay if anyone knows anywhere.

He loves the sound of the park. I'll have to stick that on our list.

He likes the sound of the boats Hongkong, we'll have to do this aswell. I somehow don't think 5 days will be long enough.

Latin Quarter is great - vey vibrant, full of restaurants - and I've never noticed the prostitutes and/or muggers. have also been all over Paris on the metor - even late at night - and never felt threatened. Ignore your neighbur and take the normal sensible precautions.

Musee do'Orsee is great. laos thing about getting a Carte Musee (it's called smoetihng else now but google it). It'sll pay for itself - and it means you can jump to the front of the queues or go in via special entrances.
