Thinking of Florida in Oct for 4 of us. As you can see I don't have a clue .

Whats the best way to book, package at travel agent or individually over the net.

Any recomendations / warnings for hotels in International drive area.

Is it worth having a car?

Whats the best ticket combo for the Universal/ seaworld/ busch gardens etc.

Is it best to book attraction tickets before going?

Where can I get cheap flights? I can get a room for $21 a night.

How much do I budget for eating per day?

What should I not miss? Is Discovery Cove worth it?

TIA

Any tips on what to wear in parks. I'm used to DLParis in Spring when you still need your woolys.

For weather forecasts etc look here

We've always gone in March/April & have worn shorts & Tshirts. Last year we had a lot of rain & thunder but it was over quickly & you only needed a light poncho-style mac.

Do be careful with shoes. Make sure they won't fall off on the rides & won't rub, as you'll be doing plenty of walking. Trainers- with socks- are ideal.

Thanks tallulah

Does it get cool in the evening, do you need jackets, cardi's.

DH is looking forward to a holiday that won't require thermals, fleece and waterproof. .

I found it got a bit cold waiting for the bus in the evenings, once it was dark. Just needed a light cardigan though, not a jacket. (DH didn't bother- no sense no feeling )

If you want a rain poncho don't buy one in Disney - they are at least 2-3 times more expensive. Go to a store outside of Disney as they are pretty cheap - and still have Mickey pictures on them

Thanks again

Good to know a bout clothes as I've rever done a warm holiday and will find it strange packing shorts etc, don't quite know if I will manage shorts though. I suppose I will have to shave my legs for the water parks anyway , time to start getting toned up. Only a year to get in shape .

hi skribble, we went to florida last year and used a guide book called 'brits guide to florida'...i think the author brings out a new edition each year to cover the new attractions. The book was great and covered eveything including best places to eat for diffrent budgets and what days are best to visit each park (quieter days etc). We stayed in a villa and had a car which was great for seeing/doing things when we were to worn out by the parks....which you will be, we were in bed at 10pm every night.
We also did discovery cove which was expensive but absolutly fantastic and worth every penny!
Whatever you decide to do when your there you probably wont see eveything you want but will be hooked and want to go back! After our first visit we said we would try to return every couple of years cause we had such a good time!!

Thanks lilolil I will have a look for that book, there seems to be lots of guide books but none offering real tips mainly listings and the stuff you read everywhere else.
