Luggage on ryanair

I have just booked three seats on ryanair for dh, dd-2 and I on ryanair. Does she get a 10kg carry on luggage allowance like dh and I do?

ho yuss! actually you do adapt to the point where if you pick up a wee baby you do rather launch them at the ceiling, but there is no way you want a napping 2 year old in your arms, nosirree bob.

Def sold on the buggy bit now-dont know what I was thinking!

Try carhire3000, mnn - we hired from them earlier in the year & thought they were quite reasonable. If you do go with them, do it by phone (0800 number) and tell them you want to pay the extra bit to cover the damage excess - it's only a few quid & if you have a bump, as we did, they take the whole excess initially (nearly £500 in our case) but then you get it refunded after they've sorted out the paperwork.

(Car hire in France does seem to be the dearest there is though )

I've just booked flights with ryanair from stansted to spain and trying to work out the luggage situation. It says you can take one fully collapsible pushchair per child, I've got one nearly 3 and a 2 month old baby. Toddler will have a maclaren which we'll take up to the plane steps for free, but what happens with the bugaboo? I plan to check it in in a travel case so it doesn't get damaged but will it count as a free pushchair or as payable luggage?

Anyone tried checking a bugaboo in travel case on ryanair and did they charge you?

FlamingGalah · 20/09/2008 13:23

Hi deedee3, I just flew ryanair last weekend from Santander with dh and DD 17 months. One collapsable pushchair per child is allowed free to check in (and take all way to gate). I would check with the Bugaboo as they have limits on the size of the pushchair and how small it is when collapsed. I would recommend a buggy bag. Our buggy bag was brand new and after this last trip, it already has a huge tear in it but buggy was intact!

ginna25 · 29/03/2009 11:52

Hi deedee3, were you allowed to check the bugaboo in in the travel bag free of charge or what did you do?

Claire2301 · 29/03/2009 14:08

We find europcar the cheapest in France. Hope you have a nice time

Don't make the mistake we did when booking with Ryanair. When asked are you checking in any infant equipment, I answered yes (as we were checking in the buggy) We were charged £19 each way. On later inspection, it seems we should have answered 'no', and the buggy would have been free, as confirmed by check in staff at Stansted. We asked about a refund, and she all but laughed in my face. Nice customer service they've got going on at Ryanair...

Ooh, yes. Another thing, the outer pocket on the girls' bag broke whilst in Italy so for the flight home we had to transfer some luggage into their hand luggage bag and check it in. So although the weight was the same, we were charged 110 euros.

Gee, I LOVE Ryanair

Just realised how old this post is!

ginna25 · 29/03/2009 15:18

What kind of buggy did you bring with you cupofteaplease? Did you check it in or bring it right up to the gate? I will need to bring the bugaboo with me and would like to check it in (packed in special transport case) but not sure if it is still free of charge this way.
